In reply to: Moved hosting, now nothing comes upI checked via Filezilla and it appears that all the permissions are set correctly.
I compared the files from the old hosting account to the new one and it looks like all files are there. Do you know what files in particular would be missing? Perhaps I’m over looking it/them?
Thanks again!

In reply to: Moved hosting, now nothing comes upMaybe I should add that when I try to go to domain/wp-admin, the URL changes to domain/wp-admin/install.php
Not sure if that helps any, but worth a shot. The white screen is worrying me.

In reply to: Switched to HostGator, now images won’t uploadStill no luck, but I tried something that has taken me 1 step closer, I think.
I’m using cPanel, so my path is technically domain/pubic_html/wp-content/uploads
I thought if I set that as the path in the Miscellaneous settings (even though I don’t need to set the /public_html/ for anything else) that the images would load. Well, it sort of worked.
The images appear to load, but the thumbnail is missing and the file URL is wrong. The image wasn’t loaded into the uploads folder and it’s nowhere to be found.
I know this has to be something simple, I just don’t know what. I could really use some thoughts. Thanks so much ??

In reply to: Switched to HostGator, now images won’t uploadI tried that earlier with no luck. I should also mention that I already have images in the Uploads folder from before the transfer and they are not showing in my Library.

In reply to: <_moz-rs-heading> being added out of nowhere?Fixed it. For anyone else who comes across this, it was really quite easy, once I figured out what to look for.
I did a quick validation and found some

tags that were wrong. rather than ending the tag with</a>
, I was ending it was<a>
. Whoops. Lesson learned.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Only one page’s sidebar not working? That definitely did the trick, but I’m not sure why it was screwed up in the first place. I didn’t paste anything from Word. I know the problems that can cause and avoid it like the plague, although I do use the Paste From Word button if it’s unavoidable.
I c/p that info from the old website, so I suppose the person before must have pasted from Word? In any case, it’s fixed and I’ll know what to look for in the future.
Thanks again!
Nobody has a solution, or even concerns about this? I would really appreciate some help. Thanks ??

In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please!I think I’m going to try to install WPMU for this account, and then add commentary as a new blog under MU. I’m just nervous about losing any of the blog (there are over 3,000 posts) so I’ve gone into the PHPadmin and backed up the databases, but I’m still nervous. If this doesn’t solve the problem, then I give up. I would rather have both non-MU sites under one umbrella anyway. Unfortunately, I have to put my efforts towards the MU stuff today because that’s where my income is. Thanks again for all your help with this.

In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please!I truly appreciate your help to this point! Thanks you ??
I really can’t have these sites connected, I don’t want people having to type in the root/subdomain to get to the site.
I’m not 100% positive what you’re suggesting, so I would rather not attempt anything right now, but I will need to get this fixed as soon as I can. Of course this problem happened after my husband sent out an email to tons of people letting them know the site was up. Irony is fantastic.
If you (or anyone else) can think of something I can do that would not link the 2 sites, I would really appreciate it.
And as I said, I really want to thank you for your time and knowledge. These forums are fantastic and I would be lost without them!

In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please! You mean using the root.com/subdomain?
Well, sorta. Sometimes, it loads super slow, sometimes, not at all. It’s very hit and miss, whereas the other sites load perfectly, all the time.

In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please!Only the subdomain site is having problems. Both non-MU installs have permalinks disabled, but only the subdomain site (commentary) is having the load issues.
I have reactivated the htaccess file, to test it again, and the MU site is working perfectly, while the commentary site is not. The other non-MU install is also working fine.
