In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please!I know, this is pretty confusing. The root is SparkLogix. I have multiple domains under my hosting account (root), BensonReport being one of them. WMPU is installed in the root. BensonReport has it’s own .org install, and Commentary.BensonReport has it’s own .org install.
So to answer your question, yes ??

In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please! The problem isn’t the permalinks on the sparklogix site. They work fine when the htaccess file is enabled. The problem is that I’ve had to disable it to make the commentary.bensonreport site load. It’s the only way I can get it to load. So I’m wondering what’s wrong with the file that’s causing the commentary site to not load.
I don’t currently have permalinks enabled on the bensonreport site.

In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please! One of the available choices. The site where permalinks aren’t working now is here.

In reply to: GoDaddy, htaccess, slow site, permalinks, Help Please!Well, I’ve got 3 accounts under my dedicated IP. 1 of those accounts is WPMU. The reason the other 2 are separate is because I didn’t know about MU before I set them up.
They all work fine (as far as speed goes) once I disabled that htaccess file. It’s just that the permalinks don’t work anymore.

In reply to: Switched servers, now images won’t uploadOkay, fixed it. I just removed the
D:\Hosting\*******\html\bensonreport\
from the path, and left it as wp-content/uploads.
I knew it was something simple.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Switched servers, now images won’t uploadI did all that and it still doesn’t work. I’m not 100% positive I did the permissions right (not sure about the numbers [755]), but I set them to:
Web User: Read[Yes], Write[No], Execute[Yes]
Owner: Read[Yes], Write[Yes], Execute[Yes]Disabled all plugins, upgraded to 2.9.1, although I reactivated the plugins after I upgraded.

In reply to: [Plugin: Sidebar Photoblog] Blog posts/Thumbnails disappearOkay, a bit more info:
If I choose “Designs” as the photoblog category (where I will be posting the images I want shown on the widget), it takes those posts and removes them from the design page, only to put them on the newly created “Photo” page (created when the plugin was activated).
However, if I select “Sidebar Photoblog” as the category, it puts all the Design category posts back on the Design page, but doesn’t post the Sidebar Photoblog posts on the Design page.
I hope that extra info helps and someone has the solution to this, if there is one. Thanks!

In reply to: Contact Form PHP IssuesThanks for the search link. I found a new forum I didn’t see in my search, and got a link to the perfect solution here.
I downloaded the WP-Mail-SMTP plugin and it worked like a charm. Thanks so much!

In reply to: Contact Form PHP IssuesGoDaddy is no help. This is their response:
Thank you for contacting Online Support. The type of error you are experiencing is most likely caused by coding or scripting. Unfortunately, because we do not provide coding support, we are unable to determine what specifically in your code may be causing the error.
And they referred me to the WordPress Codex. I’m at a complete loss now. Any more ideas?

In reply to: Create Static Pages, initially created in Dreamweaver?I’ve read that page, but I don’t see anything about being able to keep prior templates. Does it make sense, what I’m trying to accomplish? I know it might sound confusing since WP also uses templates.

In reply to: How do I make my blog page different than my homepage?I read the article, and followed the instructions, but it’s trying to point to https://www.qualitycustomorthotics.com/?page_id=11 as the “blog” page, which actually goes nowhere. What I’ve done is create HTML for my main site, including the home page. For the blog page, which should be https://www.qualitycustomorthotics.com/shoes.html , I put all that HTML in the PHP files, but don’t know how to link from there. Am I supposed to be changing the permalinks somehow to get it to have the right URL? I’ve read a couple tutorials about a static homepage, and it looks like I may be doing something backwards, but I’m not sure exactly what or how to fix it.
I have all my non-blog site pages uploaded to the main directory and all the PHP files uploaded to the wp-content/themes/mytheme folder. I wasn’t sure what directory the CSS was supposed to be uploaded to, and it’s in both, but I believe it’s all pointing to the main directory. I’m so stuck and really don’t know where to go from here. I do hope some of this is making sense.

In reply to: Partial CSS isn’t being recognized, custom theme not workingI figured it out. Thanks again for your help.

In reply to: Partial CSS isn’t being recognized, custom theme not workingThanks. I’m still pretty new to CSS and I’m still not sure what some of those validation errors mean. Obviously, a big chunk of my problem is the images not showing. I haven’t had this problem on previous sites, but what does this mean and how can I fix it:
Value Error : background Too many values or values are not recognized : url(images/ortho.png) none no-repeat center top
I really appreciate all your help. You seem to be the one that always helps me solve my problems on here. Thanks again.

In reply to: Stylesheet not updating: Godaddy hostingIt’s been much longer than 10 or 15 minutes. I tried Ctrl+F5 and it didn’t do it. Clearing the cache doesn’t work either. I’m okay with GoDaddy. I know everyone has a hard time with them, but they’ve been fine for me. I’m not good with change so I think I might lose my mind if I had to basically start all over somewhere else ??
