In reply to: 2 Things I Need Help WithHello. ??
Re 1: This article from WP Beginner offers two options, one that allows you to do 200 at a time manually or automated using a plugin like Bulk Delete.
Re 2: You’ll need a plugin that is a role manager. There are a few out there, but I like this one, PublishPress Capabilities.
Once it’s installed, you’ll be able to see all roles and delete the ones you don’t want.
Hope this helps!

In reply to: Error message of PHP 7.4Hello. ??
This error means that the plugin you’re using (insert-php) isn’t compatible with 7.4. Likely it’s an old plugin that hasn’t been kept up to date.
You can either ask the author to fix it, fix it yourself, or find a different solution.
Good luck!
Hello. ??
Are you hosted on Pantheon? If you are, the update command seems to only work in development, but not test and production environments. Here’s a write up from them.
Even if you’re not on Pantheon, the post includes how the update works and you might be able to apply it to your system.
Hope this helps!
Hello. ??
Ubuntu can have multiple versions of PHP installed at once. You’ll have to make sure your web server configuration file is requiring the version of PHP you want to use for your website.
Hope this helps!

In reply to: “Error establishing database conection” messageHello. ??
To start, you’ll need to look in the PHP Error Log file. That error log file will either be easily found in your hosting administration panel or is not available to you.
If it’s not available to you, you’ll have to contact your hosting support.
The error message in the log file will be more descriptive as to what the problem is and is likely something you will have to resolve with your host.
Best wishes!

In reply to: I can’t create posts, because these become reusable blocks.Hello. ??
I had to sort this one out, too.
When you use reusable blocks and go to save, it’s actually doing two different things: saving the post and saving any reusable blocks you created. So, your post is never saved as a reusable block, it is also saving any reusable blocks you created.
A post will always ask about saving the reusable block because if you ever change a reusable block, it changes every instance of that block throughout the entire site.
That would also explain why you run into Step 7. If you haven’t changed the post, it wouldn’t need to be saved again. However, it will still ask about saving the reusable block.
I hope that helps!

In reply to: Selecting “Offset” = poof! crash #sadfaceHello. ??
To get you the best help possible, I first need to check if this is a site hosted at WordPress.com
If it is, you’ll need to contact WordPress.com’s support: https://wordpress.com/support/help-support-options/
If it’s not hosted there, let me know and I’ll try to get you directed to someone who can help.
Best wishes!

In reply to: Can’t change admin email correctlyHello. ??
There’s a chance that the problem isn’t with the site, but with the email server. You can test that by going to your site’s admin page and try resetting the password for a different user.
You don’t need to reset that person’s password. This is just a check to see that your web server can send email at all.
It’s not uncommon to have server settings get changed when a site is redesigned and if this is the case, you can work with your host to get them reset.
Best Wishes!

In reply to: Seo inside wordpressHello!
If I understand correctly (and I may not so please feel welcome to send me an updated question), you’re wondering how SEO can help your website?
Particularly if you’re selling a product like you are, the SEO of your website will help Google find you and promote you higher in their search results. It’s a process that takes time, but is worth the effort to increase the potential reach of your business.
If you’re interested in learning more, here’s a great document to get your started.
Best of luck!
Hello, and thank you for stating your problem so concisely.

In reply to: Stolen Materials!I’m so sorry this happened to you, Cydnee. It’s terrible when people abuse the internet like this.
Unfortunately, www.ads-software.com can’t help with this. Only a hosting company and possibly pressure from other business can help you.
This site is hosted at Guzel Hosting, a hosting company out of Turkey.
You can also contact both Ravelry and Etsy to see if they can assist you in this. They can’t take the page down either, but they might have other options to assist you. After all, if it’s happening to you, it’s could be happening to others on Ravelry or Etsy sites and that’s not good for their businesses.
I wish you all the best and hope that it will be resolved in your favor.
