I do understand it’s not recommended, I used to think it wasn’t actually allowed as I hadn’t encountered it before. But I have a client that has someone with an email set up using one. :-/ As someone who codes I also understand the potential issues of not catching a character like that in a string and having functions break. But, I can’t tell my client that they need to change his existing email.

In reply to: [Blackhole for Bad Bots] Blocking “crawler”Are there any plans to try to add an ability to combat the AI training scraping that’s going on? I seem to be seeing a lot of bot traffic from that which doesn’t obey robots.txt, and also doesn’t seem to always identify itself consistently.

In reply to: [Blackhole for Bad Bots] Blocking “crawler”I have Hummingbird installed (from WPMUDEV) but page caching is turned off. I have browser and gravatar caching enabled. https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hummingbird/#caching
Am I right though in understanding that in order to get blocked, a “bad” bot has to break the coded rule and try indexing the forbidden link? Are there any other protection options based on other behavior?

In reply to: [Blackhole for Bad Bots] When will this plugin support page cachingI’ve had that same though. I’m not sure.

In reply to: [Blackhole for Bad Bots] When will this plugin support page cachingAt first I didn’t think it was working, I had to remove both the whitelisted IPs and the whitelisted bots in order to get the the block screen to show up when I clicked the URL in the source. It *seems* to work so far, with Hummingbird enabled for browser caching but leaving the page caching disabled. Not 100% ideal, but better than no caching.

In reply to: [Blackhole for Bad Bots] When will this plugin support page cachingHummingbird allows a spot to add URL exceptions, would that allow compatibility? By adding the blackhole urls, similar to what’s added to robots.txt?

In reply to: [Responsive Pricing Table] Javascript in custom button no longer worksIt also strips out any “onclick” code, etc. I don’t see any warning or text in the admin screen saying you can’t use javascript in that section. Might be good to at least add that to the info pop-up.

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] Post Type Description not visible anywhere? In this case the usefulness I’m imagining is providing instructions for my clients – I typically set things up for them but they then manage content. While something might be obvious to myself, I don’t like to assume it will be to someone who’s not got their nose in WordPress all day every day. ??

In reply to: [Custom Post Type UI] Post Type Description not visible anywhere? So it’s all for the front end? Is there any way to have a description appear on the admin settings side of it?

In reply to: [Document Library Lite] Prevent page scrolling on pagination linksThank you, the scroll_offset=”false” is what I needed. I would recommend that be the default, as it makes no sense for there to be a link offset while clicking on the pagination links.
Yes, the free version of this plugin. I have the agency (paid) version of Beaver Builder. I also tried to use a jquery version plugin to see if I could force anything through but that made no difference.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast Crashed ServerIt turns out that particular site was using the premium version. I don’t have log examples, as the tech had removed them to make space on the server to get things back up and running. The free version of the plugin doesn’t appear to have the same issue, as that’s currently in place now of the premium one.
