I have exactly the same problem.

The “from email address” is set and locked in via ‘Prevent plugins and themes from changing this’ for obvious reasons, but not the “from name”. Yet all contact forms, Woocommerce and WP emails have stopped using their designated or dynamic “from names” and just fill the naked email address as from name. If we fill in the “from name” at Post SMTP level, it overwrites all, regardless of ‘Prevent plugins and themes from changing this’ ticked or not.

This has only just recently started happening. So must be part of an update.
It’s creating issues for us.

Managed to work it out with CSS, targeting the .cancelled class.

I would REALLY appreciate some help if possible, please.

Plugins that have not been updated in x-many months should really be removed from the WordPress library. I guess voting it down is the only option.

It’s a shame because these features are excellent.

– make added countries permanent
– make the city field optional

Sorry, but has there been any movement on this? It would be a huge improvement for a (relatively) small tweak. Artists need your support here.

Hi and thanks for the open ears.

We are currently editing the countries.php file manually each time, adding “countries” i.e. “online” or “virtual” – however, needless to say, that’s highly insufficient and laborious since the file is being overwritten with each plugin update.

Maybe take a leaf out of FB’s event listing fields, where the UI now has an “online event” tick box, which could be adapted for Gigpress to make the country file obsolete when selected. In addition, it could open up the option to add additional time zones. Our audience appreciates knowing when the events start in various time zones (GMT, EDT, CET…).

We are currently bastardising the “venue” field to carry the platform our events are streamed on, i.e. zoom, Vimeo, FB live etc. still, the requirement for a city is just counter-intuitive.

An additional request we get every so often are adjustments to the countries list in general. i.e. we like using the full country names, but not for all. “UK” is still more commonly used than “United Kingdom”, “USA” is more standard than “United States of America”, etc. Yet, we want to spell out “Italy”, “Germany”, “Spain” etc. So in essence, if we make those adjustments manually to the countries.php, each update will revert back our changes. Multiply that by the number of websites we run for our artist clients, and we have an entire day of manual edits to do each time Gigpress is updated.

If improvements for those additional options can be developed without affecting legacy calendars (most of our clients want to keep showing their touring history), then that would be excellent.

I agree with you and it’s a shame this has not been implemented yet.

If Modern Tribe could just release a basic responsive version of the CSS from their end with update instructions, we’d be halfway there. And just for what it’s worth, Gigpress is still by far the best and most versatile concert calendar plugin out there.

Just an update as a result of trial/error:
I had a call in the page header
<script src="https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js" async defer></script>
This was needed for my data capture application. Although I tried it with no additional data capture on the form page, this API call messed things up for WPforms.
Even moving this API call from the header into the data capture form tag itself didn’t fix it.
The only thing that eventually made it work, was to use a different Recaptcha method from that on the data capture form.

• WPforms now uses invisible V3 (which I’m not a fan of)
• Data capture is on Tickbox V2

It appears this plugin has stopped working and is not supported anymore (and I hope I’m wrong). But I just tested it on a fresh install with the default theme, and it again did not appear in the toolbar.

Alright, so it’s replicating the date format set in the settings. Hmmm, that’s tricky. The two are intrinsically different IMO. One is set for frontend display purposes, the other is for accessible admin visibility…

I just heard back from my theme developers. They said there is a jQuery issue in the plugin, “Uncaught ReferenceError: tagindexwidth is not defined”
Can that be fixed?
