Thank you for the advice. We published another post today, and the glitch happened again. We have yet to change our settings to excerpt, but we will do so today.
We don’t want to risk sending another email with a glitch. Can we test the notification before it goes out to our subscribers? Thanks!
@happyaxident Hi Emily,
This issue resolved itself – we are now able to receive new subscribers using this widget. I’m surprised you were prompted the error message because I tested it out again just now and it worked for me.
I’d be curious to see what kind of information you get back. I noticed when I would try to test with a fake email address I would receive the error message, whereas a real email address would work.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you!
@erania-pinnera Thank you for checking in. This issue is still not resolved. I’ve deactivated all plugins and the subscription widget continues to generate an error message. Could this issue be related to our Theme?
I updated jetpack today to 12.9.1
Hi @eri32s98, I disconnected and reconnected but that didn’t fix the issue. I ran the jetpack debug tool and it said everything was running fine.
Are you seeing any issues with my site on your end?
@eri32s98 I updated Jetpack and added the widget back to my site. It still does not work. It is repeating the same behavior as before.
When I enter a new email address, I receive this error message: “Oops! There was an error when subscribing. Please try again.” The widget does recognize existing subscriber emails when I enter an email address that is already subscribed.
Can you help me figure out what is wrong?Thank you.
We are running:PHP version: 7.4
WordPress version: 6.4.2
Jetpack Version: 12.9.1- This reply was modified 10 months, 2 weeks ago by nahbweb.
@angusnewton Our stakeholder asked that we remove the widget from the blog until it’s fixed. Please let me know if this gets fixed on your site.
Thanks!
