In reply to: Favicon not show in IEThanks, Rev. Voodoo and Esmi,
The next question is, why did it not show when I went to another computer that had NOT been to the site before (so no cache issue) and couldn’t see it when PlugPress could see it?
Could this be a propagation issue? I’m in Canada and the hosting is in the US. Where is PlugPress?

In reply to: Favicon not show in IEHi Maxime,
Thanks so much for you very quick reply.
Yes, I’ve hit F5 so many times I’ve worn the letters off! I cleared my cache, history, cookies everything I could clear I did. As I said, I tried it on a different computer that had not been to the site before and still nothing in IE.The strange thing is, in the past I’ve just popped the favicon in the root and that’s it. It’s worked. I haven’t added any code in header.php. I did this time thinking it would work.
Anyway, thanks to you, I at least know it’s out there even if I and the client can’t see it!Thanks, again,

In reply to: set up new WP site before change DNS from old siteThanks, Esmi, for you quick and helpful replies!
I just figured it out. As I can’t login to the new WP install, I added
define(‘WP_HOME’,’https://example.com’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’https://example.com’);
to wp-config.php and it now works. I found the answer here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URLMany thanks again!

In reply to: set up new WP site before change DNS from old siteThanks, Esmi,
I haven’t I’ve explained this very well. On the new host I’ve installed WP but I added it as an add on domain to my account so the directory is there but DNS still points to the original site. I want to work on the new site until it’s ready and then I’ll change the DNS to the new host and delete the old site. But when I try and login to the new test site it goes to the address of the old site and not the sub-domain I set up e.g. myDomain.com/newSite/wp-login
Maybe I shouldn’t have added it as an add-on domain and just left it as a sub-domain. Am I making any sense?
Thanks,
Cliff
