Also not sure if you can help me with this but I’m thinking of switching Hosts to “webhostinghub” and I was curious if you knew anything about switching hosts. Will my site stay how it is, will I have to change it up? etc?

So you’re saying that I can’t just jump from my version the the new 3.1.2? That it has to be updated in order? Also I’m having trouble seeing what version I’m currently running. In my dashboard all I see is the message to update to the new 3.1.2 which I cannot do automatically because it won’t let me.

I’m also having trouble updating to the new WordPress, do you think you can assist me in that?

That didn’t work and only caused an “Internal” error and blocked me from my site.

I have FileZilla installed but I just don’t know any FTP access stuff. My brother hosts multiple sites one of them being mine so I’m sure he has all that FTP stuff that I don’t. All I want to do at time point is get that stupid code out of the theme so I can access my site.

I was just worried that I lost my site forever or something. Kind of like a blue screen of death and I have no backup of my site. It also kind of serves as a portfolio for when I apply to jobs. I want to work as a Video Game Journalist and that is kind of my own starting point.

I can’t get into my site what so ever. That’s why I was freaking out, I wanted to just go into https://Mysite.com/wp-admin but it gives me the same error.

I know the exact code I put in and it was all the way at the bottom of Functions.php. Then I clicked Save and DOOOOOM error code and I’m locked out :/

I’m hoping when my brother wakes up he can get into the ftp of my site and just delete the code because I really need my site back.

And thank you again for responding to my post. I’ve been here throwing a fit thinking its all gone down the shitter :/ I’m really hoping just removing that one line of code I added will bring it all back. The first thing I will do is make a backup of my site because for some reason I never did that.

Alright I’ll try to contact my brother in the morning because he is the host of my site.

Thanks for the help, I was planning to do something big with the site and wanted to make it look new and fancy. And that one line of code to completely ruin it like…I was sacred that I lost all of my work forever.

So all I have to do is somehow get into the FTP or Control Panel of the site and remove that line of code which I put in?

The end result will me getting my site back?

Umm alright so when I type in the URL

https://www.gaming411.net/wp-content/themes/rapid/functions.php

It gives me the follow error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: remove_shortcode() in /homepages/33/d221537071/htdocs/gaming411/wp-content/themes/rapid/functions.php on line 107

BEFORE the error code was:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: add_post_type_support() in /homepages/33/d221537071/htdocs/gaming411/wp-content/themes/rapid/functions.php on line 151

NOW IM REALLY CONFUSED!?!?!?

I followed a site and it told me to

1. Open functions.php in your theme editor.

2. Add this line where you find appropriate:
add_post_type_support( ‘page’, ‘excerpt’ ); // Enable excerpts for pages.

and once I did that and clicked saved…BAM gone :/ I’m really freaking out over this I have no backup of the site and can’t lose it all.
