    Oh my… I wish I was better informed about the “advanced variables” two days ago, because this is the answer! Another member who has been answering me on behalf of your plugin told me not to use the “advanced variables” option, because the latest version of your plugin had a better way of creating the paypal button.

    I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to find a workaround to this problem.

    I think all of my little road bumps with the use of this plugin are finally solved.

    Thank you!

    I did do that, and this is what I found. Notice that the url to paypal (at the very top) is a generic one. All the code that is needed to recognise the transaction in the html.

    <form method="post" action="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr"> <input type="hidden" value="_xclick-subscriptions" name="cmd"></input> <input type="hidden" value="utf-8" name="charset"></input> <input type="hidden" value="TipsandTricks_SP" name="bn"></input> <input type="hidden" value="[email protected]" name="business"></input> <input type="hidden" value="USD" name="currency_code"></input> <input type="hidden" value="233" name="item_number"></input> <input type="hidden" value="Subscribe Now-test" name="item_name"></input> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="a3"></input> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="p3"></input> <input type="hidden" value="D" name="t3"></input> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="src"></input> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="no_shipping"></input> <input type="hidden" value="https://xxxxxxxx.com/?swpm_process_ipn=1" name="notify_url"></input> <input type="hidden" value="https://xxxxxxxx.com/test-sign-up/" name="return"></input> <input type="hidden" value="https://xxxxxxxx.com" name="cancel_return"></input> <input type="hidden" value="subsc_ref=3&user_ip=216.xx.xxx.142" name="custom"></input> <input class="swpm-subscription-button-submit" type="image" alt="Subscribe Now" src="https://xxxxxxxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/ancestral-check-out-button.png"></input> </form>

    And just now, something else occured to me. Do you know if this code would work in a ‘Mail Chimp’ email that has been formatted with HTML?

    I have one more question that is somewhat related to this topic:

    I am wondering if there is a way to get the code of the button that your plugin creates. For example, if I were to create a button on the actual PayPal site, it would supply me with an HTML code, as well as a hyperlink that can be used in an email, etc.

    Your plugin creates only a shortcode for the button, but I would like to be able to put this in an email from time to time. Is there a way to do this?

    Ok. Thank you both, mbrsolution and wp.insider for your help on this.

    Your users need to click on the link sent to their email after the payment to complete the registration (that they paid for). It won’t work if they just go directly to the registration page without clicking on the special link sent to them.

    I think I know why I was confused by this. I have been using ‘sandbox’ buyers to test this out. Because a sandbox buyer has a fake email, I never received a link via email to complete this task, so I felt I needed to create a new landing page that had them complete the task.
    I understand now, that with a ‘real’ email, I will be able to receive the link that finishes the process (of registering) correctly.

    #2 question– Please see the screenshot at the link below, which shows what “advanced variable” field I am talking about. This is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation you provided above.

    #1 question- I will try to approach the question differently: When a customer visits the paypal website to pay for their subscription, I have the button set to direct them back to a page to fill out the registration form. But, it looked as if a user was already created for them when making the payment at paypal…. Thus, I have a duplicate of the same member.

    Can you tell me if this is what has happened?
    1- A user was automatically created by paypal,
    and
    2- I then prompted the same user to come back to the site and create another user? (maybe I should not have done this step? Was it redundant?)

    I had to call paypal and they helped me figure out something that had to do with my cache and needing to manually type in “sandbox.paypal” in the url when it is directing me to a non sandbox site…..

    Although, there are still two things happening:

    1) I just completed a successful payment on paypal and redirected back to the page where I filed out a mock registration form. After completion of this I now have TWO new members showing in my members list: The one with the email where I paid for paypal, and the second one that I created with the registration form.

    2) I can not find ANYWHERE that I can place the code generated for “advanced variables”. I put in the membership level ID, I get the code… but then, WHERE DOES IT GO??? What does this even mean? Since I don’t understand where it goes, I don’t understand the use for it.

    Thank you for your time.

    Thank you so much Samuel!

    if ( $args->theme_location == ‘primary-menu’ || $args->theme_location == ‘footer-menu’ )

    worked!!!

    I would have to purchase the Form Builder add-on in order to be able to accomplish this?

    (@namgostar)

    Hi. Thank you for your patience. I have placed the exact code above, in the child functions.php file. Although the page is not redirecting as I want… It is still returning to the exact same page.

    Please see the screenshot here:
    https://ancestraldevelopment.jeffrygerbermd.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/pay-pal-button-settings.png

    When you land on the paypal page, and click on the “No PayPal account? Pay using your credit or debit card”, that is when the next screen gives you this message: “The link you have used to enter the PayPal system is invalid. Please review the link and try again.”

    Why wont it let me proceed to finish the transaction in sandbox mode?

    (@namgostar)

    I have done it that way. I created the button in the simple membership > payments tab. It appears right there (payment button ID #233) in the ‘manage payment buttons’ tab. I think it is your latest, I just installed it a week or so ago.

    Thank you for directing me to this solution. I understand the very basics of coding, so I apologize for my ‘thickness’ ??

    Would I customize the code similar to what I have here?

    add_action('swpm_registration_submit', 'my_custom_after_registration_redirection');
    function my_custom_after_registration_redirection()
    {
    $url = 'https://ancestraldevelopment.jeffrygerbermd.com/registration-complete/';//TODO - Specify the URL that you want to redirect to
    wp_redirect($url);
    }
    Thread Starter namgostar

    (@namgostar)

    I have already familiarized myself with this documentation. It does not discuss how to redirect to a different url upon successful registration. It redirects right back to the very page that they just filled the form out… which is https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/registration/ (I have changed the url since my initial inquiry, so disregard the link in the first post)

    NEVER MIND!

    I found the solution here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/publish-error-1?replies=5

    Thank you anyway! ??

    I’ve thought on this more, and discovered more…
    Another thing that is happening when W3 is active is, responsive mode (mobile version) is broken. Maybe the whole problem is a responsive thing… does responsive and animation have something in common.. in respect to the way W3 is behaving?
