Thanks for investigating Blaise! I’ll see what Pinterest says, as it’s happening with all Pinterest share functions I’ve been able to test, on all devices, not just that extension. I’ve tested iPhone/iPad/Android, plus Mac desktop.

I’m not using a plugin for Pinterest sharing on my site at the moment, I have done in the past, but it’s currently disabled. In the past I have had Weblizar Pin It Button On Image Hover And Post activated, but the issue was the same with ALT text.

I have primarily been testing sharing to Pinterest using the official Pinterest Chrome browser extension.

I have also tried using the share function on my iPad and iPhone (so when I’m looking at the site in the iOS Safari browser, I click the share button, then the Pinterest icon, then am able to pin the image).

None of these ways generate ALT text for the pin. Whatever is written in the Caption in Media Library becomes the Text Description in Pinterest, but that’s it. The pin title is taken from the page title (I think this is standard for Pinterest).

Thanks so much for taking a look at my site, I really appreciate it. I did disable the Food Video extension, but I can’t see a change in the Pinterest ALT text issue.

I cleared all the caches I could find before trying to Pin again to check.

I’ve left Food Video disabled in case you want to see.

I am having the same problem. The drop menu is working fine, but the search results are not showing anything when clicked.

I checked this problem as best I could (this is new for me) and the vast majority of them appear to be associated with one plugin (I have contacted the plugin’s support).

It will be complicated and time consuming to delete this plugin (it is a recipe plugin and I own a food blog). Do you think there’s another option – something I can do?

When I click on the ingredients text it selects the instructions, description and notes text too. It’s just the ingredients that I would like bold.

I have also changed the body font back. It is currently 14px and it is set to the same in the Recipe Card theme.

Also, when I change the size of the ingredients/directions font in the recipe card theme, it does not show up on the blog recipe card. The other fonts (headers, yield, etc.) are responding to changes.

This font is 13px in the recipe card theme, but is displaying at about 16px here. I have currently set the body font of the whole blog to match it so it doesn’t look untidy, but before the body font of the whole blog was smaller and I would like to return to that if possible.
