In reply to: There has been a critical error on this website.I’m having the same problem. I’m at the height of my busy season. The deadline for orders is this week, and my site is down. A customer emailed me in the middle of a party tonight to say she can’t access the site!
I can’t access my dashboard. I don’t have a webmaster to fix things. I AM the webmaster. I’m so frustrated.
How does this get resolved? I like WordPress because it’s web-building-for-dummies, but it gets more and more complex and over my head.
Thank you.
Well, I replied to this a week ago, but it never sent! Sheesh. And I’m here waiting on a reply. lol Glad I checked!
I did all that with disabling the plugins. I did them one by one to see what would happen. Nothing worked. So I’ll go to your website and hope to get it fixed there.
Thanks!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] ‘Related Products’ text is between the product photo and title@maxinerappleby That didn’t work for me. It ruined the whole page. I wish the fix was that easy. Argh. Thanks, though!
@hegenberg Like I told BoldGrid who owns the theme, I’m not comfortable playing with CSS. This seems to need a fix on their end. I’m waiting to hear back about doing that. Thank you!
Thanks, @joe9663,
I don’t feel comfortable playing around with CSS. I dropped Thesis for this very reason. When they went to CSS, I went elsewhere.
Other options?
How did this happen anyway? In an auto-update? Isn’t there a fix on your end?
Thanks.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] ‘Related Products’ text is between the product photo and titleIf I switch themes, what happens to the site? I’m in my busy season and can’t be losing anything or needing to rebuild anything. Is it risky?

Thanks for the info, Jesse. I’m a little confused. Can I send you a screenshot of the log files? I’m not sure what to look for.

In reply to: unable to add a plugin as a sub menuGood morning! Happy New Year!
Under Settings, check off ‘Anyone can register’, then go just below that to make each user a ‘Contributor’. Then hit ‘Save Changes’. That will allow people to register. They will have no authority except to post seed exchanges. You will get to review and accept them for them to be live. This cuts the spammers. If you find people who are active, you can increase their permission to Subscriber, which means you don’t have to review their posting. ‘Author’ has even more permission, and so on up the line.
No one can actually get into your back end unless you give them full permission. I opened a separate account as a Contributor to see what that meant. You might want to do that just to see what people can see. It really helped me see the work flow.
Yes, it’s a bug that there are no post totals. That’s why we installed the Jetpack search tool so people can search something. When they are logged in, they can see the list of all the exchanges by clicking on ‘Seed Exchanges’ in the nav bar on the left. This is why I have extensive directions on the seedback home page. If you want to copy that page from my website, please feel free! A link back to my site would be appreciated.
Let me know if all that helps! I was planning on writing up a Read Me, because the one Meitar wrote is a skeleton. I just have not gotten around to it!

In reply to: unable to add a plugin as a sub menuHi SingingDwarf!
I was fortunate to have Meitar Moscovitz come by my house in his travels last month. He is one of the software developers of the WP-Seedbank plug-in. I had this same question, and we looked at it. We decided there was a bug that did not allow the separate categories (give, get, swap, sell) to show up in the nav bar menu. He showed me how to submit a bug report, and we did that together.
In the meantime, I only put ‘Add Seed Exchange’ in my nav bar with extensive instructions how to use it.
We also activated the JetPack search box, which works for specifics, like carrots.
Does that help? Let me know!
