We really appreciate your feedback! Please let us know for how long the Malware Scanning was stuck? For sites large in size, it may seem that the scanning has stuck, although it needs more time to scan all files. The speed depends on the PHP memory available on your server.
About Setting Reset, Defender places an .htaccess file inside the
wp-include
directory, and it will only harden the security of your site, to prevent PHP Execution. It is one of the Security Tweaks that can be enabled inside the Defender’s settings. If the error message was about that .htaccess file, most likely your hosting (or another plugin) has changed files and folder permissions, to prevent any plugin from accessing it, therefore it could not be deleted. We have tested Reset Settings on our end and we couldn’t replicate this issue.Some hosting providers hide an .htaccess file and it is not visible, so this would explain why it couldn’t be detected

I’m sorry to hear that you had issues with the Defender. Would you please let us know which notification you’ve received so we could have a closer look at it? In the current release, notifications settings are located in multiple places.
In the next release, we have a major rewrite and all notifications settings are placed in one place, so it will be impossible to miss an active or deactivated setting.

In the Developer Console, open Library an enable “YouTube Data API v3”:

Under the option “Which API are you using?” choose YouTube Data API v3. And under “Where will you be calling the API from?” choose WebServer.

Please go to the Network Admin > Smush > Settings, under “Subsite Controls”, switch from “None” to All/Custom.
Option “All” will allow to subsite admins access all Smush settings, on the other hand, option Custom will allow choosing which modules you want to allow subsite admins to override.
