For some reason the Main image in the Library area is giving me this:

Dimensions 400 × 240

Though I have not declared that size anywhere. It is consistent throughout.

I am looking for the restore original Image option but I don’t see it.

You’d have to either edit after you upload or during (i.e. before it makes thumbnails but after initial upload) … I know BuddyPress can do that for group images, so in theory it could be adapted to a plugin for WP…

It doesn’t need to because there are plugins to handle it.

That’s because the core only offers a basic image upload/editing system. Currently anything more than that is firmly within plugin territory – which is why some people use plugins such as NextGen.

Ok, I’m starting to understand the problem.

in the window on the left it shows ONE of the thumbnails instead of the original image. Is there a setting to change to make the main picture (left) be the original and see the changes on the right (thumbnail list) only?

at the moment it updates the left with the latest thumbnail, which I don’t want to work from.

Psychic? have you ever used Nextgen? they have a fantastic thumbnail editing system. you view the original image and select what you want. you can also bulk redo all of your thumbnails etc…

you can’t even select the thumbnail area in media library. its done for you whether you like the outcome or not… you have no say.

it is unchecked, but that still doesn’t help me choose what part of the picture I want as a thumbnail. I think this is just one of those few things WordPress really needs to develop better.

I am not using featured images though. They are straight up <img src> coded into a post. I will however look into the functions. to see if something’s going on there…

I just realized the real problem, thanks to that post… The thumbnail showing is incorrect. but there is no option to see the ORIGINAL picture to create a NEW thumbnail. I can’t create a new thumbnail from the already existing incorrect thumbnail.

when I select any of the pictures on the right, all of the options i have, it does not update the main picture area…

Thanks for making this plugin.
I’m wrestling with an issue I don’t know how to fix.

I place the link for the Contact on a widget.
It works BUT when the contact window comes up it comes up behind the media embedded in the page.

For example if you click on the link and I have a youtube video embed next to it (at least on a smaller screen) the video hides the email popup.

is there a code or something I can do to make the pop up appear in front of the media?

I’m having the same exact problem only it all started yesterday after I did a Vista update. Though I can’t see how that would be the source.
I was fine in 2.8.6 before the Vista Update. Afterwards the visual editor, the whole thing stopped working in all browsers. IE, Firefox, Chrome. It was stuck on HTML edit mode and all the drop down menu icons stopped working as well. The text in the edit window disappeared (actually white)and to make matters worse everytime I tried updating it lost all permissions and couldn’t even do that.

back to the visual editor… I have tried this on several different blogs I have on all browsers with the same result. I have done all of the suggested work around, deactivate plugins, remove plugins, clear cache, log out log in I have looked back at all the work around from previous versions as well…even did 2 reinstalls of both 2.8.6 and 2.9.1 and nothing. I am at a complete standstill and my site is totally fragged from being able to update it.

What is going on? Does anyone have a clue?
