@scwtenor There is no need to build out a lightbox popup for each hotspot – the functionality to attach an image to a hotspot and open it in a lightbox is built into the pro version of the plugin. I made a quick demo video for you here: https://www.loom.com/share/057341c5560442f8a7b634efb2751a58?sid=f5300c5b-4cd9-43b4-b9dd-ec5bb9869680
@wireb Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take reports of security issues very seriously and appreciate your diligence in notifying us.
Upon investigating the matter, it appears that the malicious file you mentioned is not included in our plugin’s download zip. This suggests that your website may have been compromised by a hacker, who likely injected the file after the plugin was installed.
Please refer to this documentation on how to handle this situation: https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/faq-my-site-was-hacked/
If you require further assistance or guidance in this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].

Hello @toad78 – No, unfortunately it can’t detect if a plugin is actually being used. That’s mainly because there’s not really a single definition of what it means for a plugin to actually be used.
For some plugins, that’s relatively easy to detect – for example, if a plugin adds shortcodes or blocks, it’s pretty straightforward to search the database and see if those are in use. Other plugins are being used just because they are installed and activated. Others require some configuration before they can actually be of use, but how that configuration works is unique to each plugin so there’s no easy way to detect if it’s been done or not.
I know that once a site is large and has lots of pages, categories, posts, etc it’s really hard to tell if deactivating a plugin makes any undesirable changes to the site. It’s definitely a challenge for the WordPress community that remains to be solved.
Thanks @adamdunnage. As this is a live ecommerce site with multiple purchases being made daily, it’t not really feasible to re-build the site from scratch or move functionality little by little to a new site. I think we’re just going to have to connect Analytics manually so we can finally start collecting conversion data. Is there anything for us to keep in mind when adding the analytics tags to the HTML when SiteKit is handling the connections for other services?
@adamdunnage Well I updated to the most recent version of the plugin, but still could not connect analytics. So then I disconnected my account completely and tried reconnecting with a different Google account, but the same result. I could connect every service except analytics. No errors in the console and only 200 responses in the network tab.

I see an update to the plugin was released, but this issue is still there. Are there any updates on when it will get fixed? It looks pretty bad on my site.
Hi @adamdunnage,
Yes we are still facing this issue. I will update to the new version of the plugin and try it again and let you know how that goes. I can also try connecting a different account.
Well debugging on the staging site wasn’t helpful at all. I sent you an updated video if you have any other suggestions for what we might try
Thanks @adamdunnage . I’m getting myself set up with a staging site clone that I can do more robust testing on and enable/disable plugins – since we’re dealing with an ecommerce site, we want to disturb the live site as little as possible.

In reply to: [Interactive Image Map Plugin - Draw Attention] AccessibilityHello @ashuga ! This is one area of the plugin accessibility that I’m still working on – there’s no simple solution for gracefully navigating users between the more info panel and the hotspots on the image. But I am determined to find and implement a good solution.
In the paid version of the plugin, we have a tooltip and lightbox layout that handle that navigation gracefully for keyboard-only and screen reader users. You can try those out in our demos on our website: https://wpdrawattention.com/demos/
We have a few other sites with very similar setups on the same hosting and we’ve been able to connect Analytics in Site Kit in all of them except this one. We’re still trying to track down why that is.
@adamdunnage No, not yet. We tried putting CloudFlare in developer mode, but still no luck.
@adamdunnage We use CloudFlare on this site and have security measures in place through CloudFlare. Might that be causing the issue? Are any web requests from Google TO our website during the connection process?
Hi @adamdunnage . I tried temporarily disabling iThemes security, but was still not able to run troubleshooting mode, and was also unable to connect Google Analytics. So, I went ahead and just re-enabled iThemes security again. Are there any other plugins that seem like they might be the cause of the issue?
@adamdunnage Ok, great. Sent you the screen recording.
