I already tried that by creating a new page and edited it with Elementor. I tried inserting a posts widget (tried EAW posts by category and post type grid (Sizzify) widget. Looked fine as a regular page.

As soon as it was assigned to the posts page in Hestia’s Homepage settings, it used the default posts page setup.

After more reading of the forums, I tried switching browsers to Firefox which worked like a charm. After more tweaking, I discovered my issue was caused by having Norton Identity Safe Extension enabled in Chrome. As soon as it was disabled, the editor worked like a charm, even in Chrome.
