In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Help! How do I publish my calendar? I’m lost! When I did not hear anything back, I uninstalled this plugin and gone with another solution. I embedded a google calendar – NO PLUGINS AT ALL!
They suggested I raise my memory allocation to 500 in wp_config (they told me this more than once, even after I had done it). I raised it to 750. They suggested I change php versions back to 5.6, which I’m not willing to do because other things may break and 5.6 is no longer supported. I tried different 7.xx versions and no difference. The told me to call my host. When I did, the host said I need more specific instructions from Time.y, which I’ve been trying to get for 3 weeks with no luck.
They are not not admitting the problem, as much as I hate double negatives. They are not taking any responsibility for it as far as I can tell.
I also have their paid cvs plugin, which won’t stay activated. They have changed what they offer on their website, so this plugin is not offered in the same way. Whether that makes any difference, I don’t know. I can tell you we are not going to renew the paid part, which comes due in September. The calendar itself seems to work just fine without it.
In the meantime, I’m looking for a different calendar solution.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Can this plugin do what I need?Courtney,
I replied to the email, and then realized it probably did not go anywhere.
I can make cvs files work. Can I also add events manually? This is for a synagogue so I’d be importing the Jewish information and adding the synagogue specific events.
Thanks so much.
I’ve been trying to get this issue fixed for a year now. I put in a ticket, and I wait more than a week. I do what is suggested. It does not work. Rinse and repeat.
I deleted my error log file this morning to see if another would be created. I’ve had 4,640 errors in the last 5 hours. all All-in-One Event Calendar: Undefined index: TZID and then the path name.
I’m ready to look for another calendar.

In reply to: Gutenberg issue after a site migration, only on 1 computerLong process, as you well know, but I’ve found the culprit – actually 2 culprits.
I was using Contact Form Maker plugin – that was what was causing it.
I checked another site which uses WP Forms, and that is doing it as well.
So I need to find a form maker, preferably free, that is WordPress 5.0 and Gutenberg compatible.
Thanks so much for all your help with this.

I never heard of Imgur – it is sort of a creepy looking site, at least in my opinion.
Thanks for your help,

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Spaces deleted when copying from Word into GutenbergTo me this is a big deal. I don’t want to take any chances on publishing typos, and this is one more place a typo could occur. And it means I have to go through every post my client puts up because he is not going to check this.
I found this error on GitHub and it is supposed to be fixed for WordPress 5.0.2. I hope it is.
Thanks for your response.

In reply to: Gutenberg issue after a site migration, only on 1 computerI have not tried that. I just figured out what it could be before I posted, then had dinner.
I have 5 websites but 3 are live and I’m not sure I want to risk breaking them. I’ll try that with the dev sites tomorrow and let you know.
Thanks!!

In reply to: Gutenberg issue after a site migration, only on 1 computerVersion 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10, on one desktop and one laptop.
A very long time ago, I was a total Mac person, so it would not surprise me if it is a Windows thing.
Thanks!

In reply to: Gutenberg issue after a site migration, only on 1 computerJames,
We did all of these steps, and it was quite an eye opener. We did this on a computer where Firefox is used as the default browser so we did not care what we deleted from Chrome. Chrome is the browser that the blog poster (my client) uses for this site.
Chrome was not up to date, so we updated it. Did not work.
Cleared all cache, cookies, and history. Did not work.
Deleted all browser extensions. Did not work.
Then I thought:
What about the dev site? It turns out, the dev site does not work either.
So, what about Firefox, which is the browser I designed in.
So, I tried Chrome on another computer – no go.
Lo and behold, Firefox is fine!
All that said and done, it looks like Chrome is having an issue with Gutenberg, at least in my network.
Is there anything known with WordPress 5.0 and Chrome? My client is willing to use Firefox if he has to for his website, but obviously this should be solved. We’ll try next whatever you tell us to.
Thanks for your help.
It is now about 7 minutes since I posted this, and all of a sudden all of my emails showed up – all at once, to both email addresses. If you have any suggestions how I can avoid this happening, I’d appreciate it. I want to feel comfortable that people contacting my organization will be able to get to us.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Getting help and creating hyperlinksI don’t know if this is still open. I’ve figured out most of this and have another question. In the Image block, is there a way to open in a new window? If I go to html and add target=”_blank”, then when I update, it makes me change the Image block into an html block, or it won’t keep that change. So now in the visual editor, I can’t see the images anymore, just the code. Thanks.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Getting help and creating hyperlinksI looked at the how to use guide you found for me – thanks for finding it. One more thing I can’t figure out how to do – link an image. I want to have a small image on the page linked to a larger image that will open in a new page. No way I can find to do this either. I was really ready to use this, now I’m heading for being ready to deactivate the plugin. Not only am I trying to get pages laid out, I’m trying to learn a new interface that I’m not finding is intuitive.
Thanks for all your help – I appreciate your time.
Benjamin,
That solved not only the calendar issue, but also the issue that DNS prefetch was looking at the wrong place, and the website was loading very, VERY slowly.
Thanks so so much.
