Ha ha ha! I was looking in www.ads-software.com and this forum. Didn’t even consider the plugin itself. Help button message has been sent.

OK – I feel REAL stupid. Where is the “Help Button”? Honest, I really did look all around, including the main plugin site, your profile, this support forum, etc. I am either real blind or I need to be logged in a certain way or be some certain type of user to see it.

Sorry for my inane question but I really can’t find it.

    Thanks,

Hey – noodlin` around just now and realized if I right click the product and choose “Open in a new tab” I don’t get the error. Normally clicking on the product opens a dialog/modal.

Assuming this is a clue? Maybe?

Thanks for the reply. No minification plugins – at least no plugins who purpose it is to minimize javascript. Plus, the sources and network tab show no evidence of minimization. Below I see reference to jquery.min but that’s not the same thing as javascript minimization I dont think. I re-enabled Apple pay so you can see the error if you go to:

    https://ritadeealpacas.com/farm-store/

and click on any product. I use the Rambo pro theme and the error stack does mention AJAX(below). I did try disabling the only plugin I’ve added in the last 6 months but that does not seem to be a contributor since the problem still existed without change.

    Thanks for your response!!

To me that means is available as a separate add-on AND it’s included for free in the Pro version(ie its available two different ways). So it’s only available in the Pro version?

That was it – check out my site now. Works exactly as expected.

    Thanks!

will do – it will be later tonight though. Thanks for looking into it. It did not get any traction over at woocommerce support.

PS: Clicking on “View Category” on the admin bar while editing a Product Category creates the same aberrant behavior

Thanks so much for looking into it. I’ll cross-post to woocommerce support as well. Let me know if here is anything I can do to help

PS: Running wp-catalogue 1.7.1 and wordpress 3.8.1 And I already tried defaulting to the Twenty Eleven theme and had the same behavior

I took your advice and I went ahead and changed the landing page of the “Alpacas Available” menu to use the short code. The sub-menus I did not change. Interestingly, it now all works – even if you choose a sub-menu/category first. When I used a post and not a page, it did not work. Clearly the root of the product structure has to reside on a page and not a post as you suggest.

However, all is well that ends well. Even though we had some other ideas for that landing page, its no biggie and it works with our overall design and user experience criterion, so we’re happy. Check it out and see .

    Thanks again!

No, but I just added one. Go to our home page (www.rdfarms.com), click on the “Farm Store on Etsy” post. In that post I just temporarily added it to the bottom. It does display correctly on that page showing all three products. But it also includes the post title in the Drill Down structure (ie “All products >>> Farm Store on Etsy!”) which is counter-intuitive and is not what I would expect. And when you actually click on the “All Products” link, it simply reloads the current page like the menu navigation I currently have instead of doing what I would expect – which is to bring up a fresh page showing all products without other content.

I hope this helps and please let me know what else I can do,

There was no change in behaviour. The change did “stick”, as I saw the new post names (ie pageid=XXX) and the new permalink for the WP Catalog items. For example, I saw ie ?wpcatalog=<product> instead of /wpcatalog/<product>

I am a software engineer (c and c++) in my day job but have done a little php in the past and will be happy to help any way I can. I don’t have access to my server during work days since I have remote access cut off for security reasons, but would be glad to do anything I can help in the evenings.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do

    Hey Maeve,

Thanks so muh for getting back to me. A couple of notes:

1 – When you go to the page, and click on “Alpacas Available” menu, that is a menu tied to the “All Products” link and does no work. That is why you probably had trouble seeing my set-up. If you choose an item from that menu, like “Herdsires”, then you are taken to a category and that will work. But even when trying to access “All Products” from the category, it will not work.

2 – I am using the Lifestyle theme – not the Genesis theme. This was changed a while back ago and I forgot. Sorry!

    I did try your suggestions:

1 – I just now upgraded from 3.8 to 3.8.1 with no difference in behavior.
2 – I just activated the 20-12 theme with no difference in behavior
3 – I just deactivated all plug-ins except WP Catalog. While this resulted in strange behavior on my page, the catalog part acted exactly the same and the All Products link still did not work.
4 – I tried changing the permalink structure and that did not work.

I hope this helped. Let me know if I can do anything else or help in any way!

I am having the same problem: Genesis template and 2.02 wordpress. Locally hosted. https://www.rdfarms.com and click on “Alpacas Available” I likewise have already tried rebuilding the permalinks.

I did add a parent category (“All Alpacas”)as a work-around that will temporarily give the user an option to see all the animals. However it still does not help with the “All Products” link, which is still there and inoperative.

Whats weird is the “All Products” link takes on the permalink URL of the current category, regardless of the category. If you hover over “All Products”, you’ll see what I mean.

    Any ideas? Thank in advance!!

    Spencer
