  • The lack of WordPress support is astounding; absolutely jaw dropping. Alison, if your looking for a temp fix and can deal with the horse shit, use a text editor. Assuming your on a mac, use textedit.

Never, I repeat never even open WYSIWYG, leave your editor on code and cope/paste from the textedit, making damn sure your HTML tags are clean. From there you can save and then view on your page and it will retain it’s formatting.

At least for me it’s worked. This is so ridiculous though, I’m sick and tired of copy/pasting my posts, perhaps I’ll switch software. Does anyone have an e-mail or a way to contact WP developers or even support? This bug seems to be old and no one, including the lazy moderators on this forum, seem to be able to successfully fix it.

Alison, I wish you the best of luck.

I’m not using anything to upload my content; strictly writing my posts in WP. I just read another thread and the guy had the same issue. Can we some how get in touch with an educated WP support person?

Alison, so what do you recommend I do? Not use WYSIWYG? Only use code and go through the pain of adding HTML when it’s not needed? Time consuming and not even close to efficient. What if I want to use WYSIWYG only for text, and use code editor for my links and images?

Why will no one from wordpress come up with a legit solution. This is bullshit.

    Trent,

Thanks for your promt replys and the help brother. I called BlueHost support and she fixed it, it’s up and running. Why do I still get prompted to upgrade?

This is what it says when I try to install wordpress now.

    Install WordPress (2/3)

The installation can not be completed:

    – You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

Click on the browser’s Back button to fix reported errors.

Trent, I’ve read that page several times, still hasn’t worked out. Then I tried to delete everything and install wordpress through fantastico again and now I get like 15 errors.

I have no site anymore, no wordpress and worst of all, no idea how to fix it.

These are the contents of my directory

    folder – cgi-bin
    php file – prepare-removal.php

What the hell do I do?

Weird. I wish I could get that far, where in the hell do I find the upgrade.php URL?

    *update*

I’ve figured out how to get my theme to work, it’s the upgrade I’m having trouble with.

    Trent,

I already installed wordpress. It’s the upgrade that’s giving me trouble. I also have no idea how to get my new theme to show up in my admin panel so I can select it. I’m so freaking lost, help me out dude.

    Thanks, Trent

    Nate
