Hey @hityzakupowe12345, I was the poster of the original issue linked above a few months back.
Every TOC plugin I tried resulted in the same issue as I assume they’re all built on the same concept. Apart from Joli Table of Contents. It may sound like a pain but you can switch over pretty easily assuming you’re using the shortcode to add the TOC into your pages.
After installing Joli Table of Contents, I dropped this in my functions.php:
add_filter('jolitoc_shortcode_tag', function(){ return 'ez-toc';});
Then disabled Easy TOC.
So the old Easy TOC shortcode now triggers adding Joli Table of Contents instead.
That solved my structured data issues. But of course I would suggest testing yourself as your set-up may be different than mine.
Hi @caseproof, you’re misunderstanding the issue.
With all ad blockers OFF, thirsty afilliates css overrides everything in the backend as above. Thirsty affiliates breaks my admin panel.
I can fix it by turning my ad block ON which blocks thirsty affiliates and stops it overriding everything on the backend. But this also blocks the ability to use it direct in the editor.
Similarly deactivating thirsty affiliates removes the css problems.
Interestingly, the reason I did not find this earlier is apparantely due to uBlock Origin on my browser. When uBlock is enabled, it actually blocks the offending css by default and fixes the issue. With no ad-blocker, Thirsty Affiliates effectively takes over the entire css styling of the admin backend.
I wonder how many people using the free plugin will be stung in Jan when their AdSense revenue drops to zero because they have the same “misunderstanding” that we had. You announced in multiple threads in this support forum for the free version of the plugin that it is now Google CMP certified & compliant, with no mention that this does not actually apply to the free version (that is the sole focus of this forum) at all.
It also seems that one of my previous messages in this thread and all of the messages from @seowebua have been deleted … unsure of the reasoning?
Regardless, it’s all a null point for me now anyway. Unfortunately looks like a move over to the Google Adsense native GDPR message for me. It’s a shame as I genuinely found this plugin useful.
I’ve just went to your site and looked at feature comparison/pricing. I can see “Pre-built IAB TCF v2.2 Banner” is not available for free or for basic $10 a month (!), only pro $20 a month and above. Does this refer to the premium features you’ve mentioned (and so to be compliant with adsense changes) at $20 a month?
Similarly to @bobsled I’ve very surprised that this functionality is pay walled based on all previous comments made on this forum about the CMP certification. Considering that this forum is for the support of free versions of plugins only, I would expect a heads up that the free version of the plugin simply cannot support Google’s changes regarding certified CMPs. Unless I’ve completely misunderstood your comments above…
This is great news! @cookieyesteam if we already have the plugin installed, are there any extra steps we need to take to ensure compliance with Google’s new policy, or is the plugin as-is compliant with default settings?
What I mean by semantics is:
“This has nothing to do with ad inserter” – while it is true that it was my error, it is a query about a problem that was encountered while using the plugin. “Technically true” statements/arguing over semantics in a dismissive way like that doesn’t help anyone. Support doesn’t just need to be about technical issues with your product, it can be to help guide users into how to use your product correctly/effectively. Your second reply did exactly that, which I appreciate.
That’s just my 2 cents anyway and hope that it’s not taken in a negative way.
Cheers,

In reply to: [Easy Table of Contents] Conflict With YASRHi there, I’ve since swapped out for another TOC plugin so unable to provide screenshots of the code, or the google rich snippet testing tool. But it is as I explained – the plugin YASR adds structured data for reviews for posts/pages. If I add your TOC shortcode to a page, the structured data is no longer injected into the page’s code. So it seems that your plugin is conflicting or otherwise preventing YASR from injecting the structured data into the code.
Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it. Yes, I was coming back here to say that I’d discovered that I’d accidentally included the js part of the code in the blocks rather than once in the head causing it to be repeated by ad inserter.
From a user perspective, it does have something to do with ad inserter though, or rather the way it injects code. I understand that it was my error but not everyone who uses your plugin is aware of the ins and outs of how it works or how it injects ad code as you of course are.
And regarding the page size, Google Page speed insights and Lighthouse disagree with you on that one. Of course, the contents of the JS are not part of the actual code of my page, but users experience the same effect of increased “page” size and page load time. Removal of the duplicates has significantly upped my load times.
I love your plugin and am very grateful that you made it and offer it for free, but reading some of your support comments here, and your comment to me above, you seem more bothered about semantics than assisting which is a shame.
Thanks, what is the likelihood of this being addressed and what sort of timescale would you be looking at to implement a fix?
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve tested on my staging site and have found the issue.
Your plugin has a conflict with Easy Table of Contents: https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/easy-table-of-contents/
If I add the shortcode for Easy Table of Contents, YASR will not embed the structured data in the page. If I remove it, it will.
Is it possible to bug fix this, or workaround in some way?
@charlton1 Unfortunately not. I was never able to get 2FA to work with this plugin.
Unfortunately this continues to happen despite being an exclusion from caching. I can’t even identify a common trigger. Sometimes it happens when I update plugins (sometimes not), sometimes when I create a draft (sometimes not), sometimes when I publish a post (sometimes not). But if I leave the site alone for several days the links will stay functional. It seems any action I take in the backend is likely to cause all links to break.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll wait until the next time the links break and then clear my site’s cache to see if that resolves it. If it does I’ll add the links to the cache exclusions.
Hi there,
Yes using the latest version and I’ve already followed these steps. I do exactly this every time all 500 links begin to generate 404s:
- Deactivate thirsty affiliates.
- Reactivate thirsty affiliates
- Go to settings -> permalinks and click save
As I say, every time this resolves the issue but it is only temporary. I need to do this at least once a week as every single one of the 500 links reverts back to 404 after a time.
