Do you actually mean step 3 of the instructions? Step 4 does not include any information about the URLs being used. Also, as a side note, Step 4 DOES reference ‘make sure “Enable Callback Locking” option is disabled.’ .. however, this checkbox is no longer present on my Twitter apps setting page.

PHP 5.4.19 version here with the errors.

I just upgraded to 5.6.27 and was able to successfully activate.

Hopefully this will help narrow it down to help others. ??

I had the same error, and it persists after re-installing.

To get your dashboard back, go to your /web/htdocs/www.ilbazardimari.net/home/wp-content/plugins/ folder and delete/rename the akismet folder via your web or FTP file manager interface (hopefully you have access to that, or you will need to reach out to your host for support).

I do not have Ninja Mode enabled and I have the same issue when using the ‘Delete all sploggers’ button. However, I can select all and use the bulk action successfully.

I have the entry in /etc/hosts .. and when I am at a command line I can use wget for the file path shown above.

I can also successfully update plugins using the auto-update feature with no issues at all. This is quite frustrating. I thought perhaps there was something going on with cURL (which I assume is being used) so I applied an update to it.. same results.

I’m leaving town tomorrow and would like to try to fix this before I go so my guest bloggers can post pictures if they would like.

Mine is 777 and I still get the message:
It doesn’t look like you can use the file upload feature at this time because the directory you have specified ( path deleted ) doesn’t appear to be writable by WordPress. Check the permissions on the directory and for typos.
Any other ideas?

Butting in here…. No, it is a pain in the ass either way with WP right now. I eaither A) have to doa seperate installation of WP which means I no longer share account information or B) Use categories / subcategories but the look/feel is exactly the same. Yes, there are hackish ways to get around both/either problems.
Basically MT (which I use as a reference since I ran it for about a year) allowed as many blogs as you wanted all visible from within a unified control panel. They all shared a user database which allowed assignment of users to specific tasks.. add categories, add users, edit posts, add posts, delete posts etc. Very flexible. I’m not even sure what the 0-9 of WP user levels means.

WTF?!?! I tried it four or five times. OK, great. It’s working.

What is the deal? Is this by design? It SEEMS that the behavior has changed. For example: Category Entertainment… subcategories.. games, movies, tv, etc. Category Entertainment has no posts directly assigned to it, so NONE of the subcategories are displayed. I assigned one movie post to movies and entertainment and poof… all subcategories showed up again.
*I* don’t think I should have to explicitly say it is in entertainment. it is a subcategory… it should automatically be in the parent category. Is there a way to hack / fix this? I seem to recall that it worked that way before say… epsilon.

A note to anyone else doing this… the changes are made in the statistics.pho file in your plugins directory.
DO NOT change the $tablexxxx on the ‘global’ lines or you will get an error.
