Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Align right using the visual/text editorThank you Keith.
Update: not blind, but just stupid. I remembered now, it is not Wordfence but another plugin that enables this wp-login hiding. Sorry!

In reply to: My feedback as a WP userWhy should we use a plugin for something that was already on that toolbar? Is that the purpose of removing said buttons, so the users turn to plugins to restore that simple functionality (that WordPress seems to stray away more and more lately)?
Thank you.
Oh, I did that. I do a full “delete cache and minified css/js” after every wp/plugin upgrade.
I disabled the plugin and everything runs smoothly now.
OK, now it has “spread” to other parts of the site. Now I can’t access the Pages, nor update any Posts…
I notice it has become a habit, everytime the plugin updates, something goes wrong. I think it’s time I research other security plugins.

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Wordfence Report 11:29 May 24, 2016I already opened a thread about this here.
@bigpacific I suggest you delete the link to the report about vulnerabilities. All it does, at this time, is to inform hackers that this plugin, thus our site, can be attacked.

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] 2 plugin vulnerabilities@mpdeegan Let’s keep in mind that we are using (at least I am) using the free version of this plugin. It’s normal for the plugin developer to first patch and upgrade the Pro (paid) version of his plugin.
Looking at how many topics have been answered and resolved in a short time, I’d say Emre Vona will release the update for our free plugin in a short time. Meanwhile I think it would be best to keep a low profile and not mention what the vulnerabilities are ??
The “Last Updated” issue might have to do with the last review about the plugin, I think.

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Cache Timeout Rules – Is My URI correctly written?I already rated this plugin with the 5 stars it deserves, a while ago.
The next step will be to upgrade to the premium/paid version. I think it will happen soon.

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Cache Timeout Rules – Is My URI correctly written?Thank you.
I should have searched the site before posting this question. Now I got it, I will only type the part of the URL written after the domain homepage.
I had to delete the plugin folder, access the site in the old-fashioned way, then I reinstalled it and it seems to work.
I still have no idea what happened. I checked the Logs and all I could see was that my IP was blocked because of “Type = Brute_force”… I assure you I was delicate with the Log In area, treated it like a flower.
Anyway, since the issue seems to be gone now, I’ll mark this thread as resolved, because I don’t want the iThemes team to waste their time when they probably have more important things to solve.
Stay safe everyone!

In reply to: Insert/edit link Missing Title Field? So this is what our opinions are now, irrelevant. That’s a pretty rough statement, and coming from an www.ads-software.com Tech Guy.
Personally, I will start looking for other CMS’s. And use them, at least until WordPress says its’ users opinions do matter.
Not everyone is a beta tester, so not everyone “should have noticed it a couple of months back”.
PS I can’t even begin to comprehend the huge amount of work in making stable WordPress versions. Much respect for that, and thank you. But I don’t think anyone out here would like to see it said to his/her face “your opinion is noted, but irrelevant”.
PS2 Thank you Otto for providing the plugin. And a side question please: are these title tags really irrelevant from a seo point of view? I was under the impression these little things matter.

In reply to: Insert/edit link Missing Title Field?I’m having the same issue, I used to be able to edit the title tag when clicking on the link button. Now it’s gone and I have to scroll through lots of lines of code to change my (now) outdated title tags.
Are these no longer relevant / good for user experience? I used to change title tags many times a day (a lotto site where I update the main page with the results of the last draw, and I think it helped me to also have the exact details of that particular draw in the title tag).
Now I can edit the text I link from the link editor, not the title tag anymore. I want that back. Please?
