You will have to pay Twitter for paid account to do more than 50 per day (30 days x 50 = 1500 post limit with free plan). Not a limitation of plugin.

+1 on this as we have a huge site online for 20 years and using WP since v1.6, so being able to fully remove ‘all data’ from plugin on uninstally is kinda critical and generally ‘good behavior’ for any plugin adding data tables to the dbase.

Be aware Twitter suspended many sites as of last night, June 13,; even if previously upgraded from v1 to V2 app. You need to login to your developer.twitter account, check to see if the ‘app’ under ‘project’ has SUSPENDED notice.

So, apparently they are now cracking down on any interim apps still connecting via 1.1 API and not fully via 2.0 API.

So as of today for most of our sites, this plugin no longer works at all, regardless of setting and must be updated to use 2.0 API to work at all.

Twitter is effectively suspending all apps connected to old API in any way; even if you setup a new 2.0 project and app.

I have confirmed making *new* app for project, and deleting suspended one, does NOT restart push from this plugin to Twitter.

Yes. last Saturday I setup three new API 2.0 project and app for three different sites which got the same notice. Twitter should have sent out an “your AP 1.1 account will be disabled on Friday, time to switch to 2.0” but instead they just sent out violation notices under the MUSK REGIME ?? But yes, you basically need to delete old app, then old project, then make new project, new app, and redo permissions and generate private key, then put those NEW credentials into this app, and it works. Been running all week with zero hassle. ??

Oops — I just realized the shortcode function is only with ‘premium’ apps.

It’s working for us, using the 2.0 API with twitter. Main thing is to remember to toggle ‘show image’ to off on the Twitter settings, and twitter card on, from main settings.

The 2.0 API is different from 1.1 API. In top left menu in developer account, you need to delete ol project and app; make NEW project and app for 2.0 API under the ‘free’ tier. Once you create your new app, and set permissions and generate private keys, you put the new info into this app and works just fine.

Nothing to do with plugin. This past week, Twitter disabled all old ‘apps’ which used the 1.1 API. You need to login to your account, delete old app and project; then make *new* project, new app, set permissions, generate new keys; then use the new credentials in this app.

I rolled back to prior version since latest version is buggy a.f.

Now looking for replacement for Yoast for 2023, finally.
