oops – got it – the Screen Options panel (top right of admin screen) allowed me to select the Discussion panel to be visible which it wasn’t by default. Still don’t know why the comments form showed up on random pages and not others, but resolved now

anyone know where/how to remove comments on pages?
I am getting the comments form on some pages but not all, which seems odd, and I do not want them on any pages at all (only posts)

OK – I found that by removing the title in the header options panel, not only was the search field removed, but white space eliminated. (Just had to add the title in my header graphic instead)

Well I guess the white space thing will be CSS, but I tried removing relevant “search” code from header.php and it broke the site, so replaced it. Though that might just reduce that fat white space band too, but…

OK – adding a second (duplicate) post allowed comments for some reason (and then I deleted the 1st – go figure)

OK, checking that out, thank you – my intention was to change url/permalinks to reflect new domain name, but obviously that was a misdirected experiment!

I’m having similar problems now after upgrading to WP 3.0

me 3 – and updating the database order in the plugin doesn’t actually change the post order on the front end.
Only alternative seems to be to manually edit dates for each post (nightmare)
PostMash (filtered) offers some hints here but not sure if that’s relevant or not yet…

OK, so what is the prescribed resolution or image size for the slider images please if they can not be set not to stretch.

Hi iwebix – Slick template – danke schoen!
I found no documentation anywhere – at least not in english und mein deutch sucks.
The featured slider is stretching the images – where can I set them not to stretch – otherwise I’ll can resize images to about 200x 450 I guess but prefer to just set stretch to false somewhere if possible!?

that didn’t work for me, but /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/imagerotator.swf did

bingo baby – uploaded another copy of imagerotator.swf to /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/imagerotator.swf , instead of the uploads folder, then reset the path again in control panel – and now suddenly it’s working! (using tag [gallery=2] in post)
phew
