Hi Dag,

Seems like you have a customized child theme installed and probems after the new update.

My Colormag childtheme has been highly customized for my site including a members forum.

I have not upgraded yout to the new version after reading all the comments here.

Afraid to do so, because my site is getting a good amount of traffic and I don’t want to have a broken theme display.

As you said it used to be such a great theme.

My developer wanted to switch me a few month ago and I they said : Themegrill” has always been so great with support and I love the Colormag theme.

Now I wonder if I made the right decision?

I guess with it being a weekend there is no support working at Themegrill :(. Hopefully they get it sorted out on Monday by the latest

That’s scary.Can you not revert changes by replacing with the lastest backup copuy prior to the update?

I will wait with my own upgrade.

I am NOT using Gutenberg.

The issue is in classic editor.

When you look to post, there are two option in the post dashboard
options
1. VISUAL
2.TEXT

These are the two and I could not switch between visual and text.

I have wordfence installed on my site.

There is a free and paid version. Both are great and I never had a problem with hacking.

You could also contact them (wordfence) to help you clean your site.

They provide this service for a fee.

Then, as Steve said, Sucuri or Wordfence is a must to keep your site safe.

Classic editor visual.html switch is not working

Yoast is not compatible.

Did you do a backup before you updated it?

Maybe you can rollback.

I did and everything is working again as it should.

I am waiting for the bugs to be fixed

I am having more problems than the switch from visual to html.

YOAST is also not working in 5.3.

It won’t let me input data into the SEO fields.

I am glad I had a backup installed before updating.
I have reinstalled the previous WordPress version

Everything is working FINE again.

So there are definitely numerous bugs with 5.3.
I discovered two in the last 30 minutes with my plugins.,.

Hopefully, someone will be able to fix this mess within a few days!

Use wp-rollback. (make backup first just in case)

I reverted to a previous version 2.3.5 and everything is working again.

My snippets and titles are back. editor is working, etc….

I will wait till issues are fixed until I update Yoast Seo.

I appreciate your effort with this plugin.

However I have to keep it real with my rating,
or I would be giving a false sense of security.

It is strange to me that some people gave it a 5 star rating, when even they acknowledged that they received a very high number of clicks. Some of them over 20!

I set the plugin to 2 clicks maximum
By the way I have the newest version of wordpress and both the “old adsense code” and the asyc code on my blog.

Anyways: here is the breakdown of the numbers:

2013-12-12 06:37:33
to 2013-12-19 13:07:56

3 clicks: 29 IP’s
4 clicks: 36
5 clicks: 6
6 clicks: 6
8 clicks: 3
9 clicks: 1
12 clicks: 1

Assuming that the vast majority of people only click 1 or 2 times on any ad, that leaves a huge number of people still clicking 3-4 times.

I suppose I can manually ban someone from my server who clicks 12 times.
So I guess the plugin would come in handy then.
