I would still like to know how to display categories that match the search on the results page.

I removed jquery from the footer, and now AjaxySearch works fine. BUT, now none of my other jquery items work. For example: https://newslines.org/getting-started/ does not show gallery images on the left-hand side.

There is a problem with the categories though.

If you search using the letters “bu” you will see BuddyPress taxonomies. The search should be limited just to the “categories” taxonomy only.

I have the same problem.

Please check https://newslines.org and search for John McAfee. You will see it gives two results, one for the category and one for the post tags. I only want to show the category.

(In fact it’s a little more complicated. I don’t want to display the post-tags but I also don’t want to display categories that have a particular post tag, such as “featured”)
