I believe the reason is caching. After updating I had to clear cache at all levels three times and then also the browser cache. Then things started to work.

Agree with this replying thing – it seems there are many people affected by this and all have different sets of plugins, themes and hosting. So it has to be something more universal but nothing’s been solved. Been in touch with their support too but they only said it might be the Braintree account. Sure – when we have the old version active then all is fine with the account but with the new one it isn’t. It really is logical to then guess there is something wrong with the account.

Then you can install this one as normal. Not sure if it creates new settings, though. I usually upload these via FTP overwriting the current folder. Hope this helps!

Can you not switch back to the previous version? Helped for us but we still need a way to update it.

In Safari, the console says: “TypeError: braintree.setup is not a function”.

Have had the same issue while strangely it works in the staging server but not on the live one. Woocommerce’is support has just suggested it might be the Braintree account while that makes no sense.

They also tested it on the live site and left a mess behind which took an hour to clean up, especially as they went to enjoy their weekend just after finishing their test. I’m not sure they understand people make money with these plugins and their lively hoods depend on it.

I can do that but the issue is that naturally we disabled it on the live site as else people could not buy. As the issue doesn’t occur on the staging site then there is probably an optimisation/caching issue (even though the checkout page is not cached, as far as I know).

But this is not only this caching plugin, it’s about all caching – even any optimisation your host might do as happened with us. So there is bug there that needs to be fixed but of course their support answers once a year.

I personally switched to Pressidium who have MUCH better customer support and hosting. All works fine now.

Have the same issue and also hosting on WP Engine. The weird thing is that the checkout page where it’s displayed, should not be cached.

Any update on this? It’s quite a critical issue.

Ah forgot to add that it also calls the Braintree assets on every single page which is not very optimised.
