    Ok… update and resolved.

    I have installed the WP Widget Control as suggested. It is quite a useful plugin.

    It doesn’t have the simple check the box, it is a lot more sophisticated, but it gives me the option to chose which widget displays on which devices.

    Therefore I have put the widgets on the side bar twice.

    When a visitor is on PC, one set displays 24 categories and 20 posts on the PC alongside the post.

    And when the visitor is on a mobile device, the sidebar moves underneath the body of the main body (post) and now displays just the drop down menu for categories and the 3 most recent posts.

    Thanks George, I have Ad Inserter installed already.

    The WP Widget control looks very useful.

    I’ll try it out. (It is SiteOrigin compatible as well, which is what I am also using on this site.) Maybe I find a way to extend its use beyond what I want to do.

    On a mobile device’s tiny screen, you probably don’t want multiple columns: you want to either hide the sidebar completely… or let the sidebar drop to the bottom, with the content column on top. A good response design takes care of this.

    Correct. The theme is Astra. No. I do not want to hide the sidebar. As well as the categpories and posts I will be putting small ads on them

    And once the sidebar (and all widgets) are in the same single column below the content,

    Then I have 24 categories and the last 10 posts to scroll to the bottom of the page. People will only do that once,

    I don’t see how your proposal would be useful.

    A drop down menu would display the Categories and Posts in what would be effectively 2 lines, immediately followed by the ads. The visitor could use the drop menu to reveal 24 categories, or last 10 posts, if required. no scrolling scrolling scrolling…

    Or am I missing something in your post?

    On further experimentation, it appears that it is the 2 shortcodes that won’t play together when in your plugin.

    I can use Your plugin and ShortCodes Ultimate
    OR
    I can use your plugin and Adrotate’s shortcodes
    OR
    I can use Shortcodes Ultimate & Adrotate shortcode

    BUT I cannot use all three together.

    So I will leave out Shortcode Ultimate and instead of having two columns, will just have one, which is how it ends up on mobile devices anyway.

    Hi Patryk, thanks for the update. As this site only has a few pages to do I will simply create 2 columns with SiteOrigin and put in the adrotate codes. It will be far quicker and easier for me.

    FYI. I did attempt to send you 20 USD as thanks for your your effort & tidbits for your dogs. However, for whatever reason, I could not set United States as my country on the PayPal screen (with adblock and privacy badger disabled), PayPal kept reverting back to Poland; and then when I C&Pd the URL into Chrome, Google wanted me to do their inevitable CAPTCHA — after IDing Crosswalks, Hydrants, Bridges, Palmtrees and Motorcycles it wanted to keep going, so I stopped. Sorry. Maybe next time I’ll get lucky.

    Hello Patryk

    Many thanks for looking into this. I have upgraded to 2.6.1

    Apologies for the delay, but I’ve had to do some experimenting. This is what I’ve found

    If I don’t adjust “Set Custom Priority” (ie leave blank) the plugin:

    1 / works on standard word press pages and the shortcodes work — all as intended

    2 / If I don’t adjust “Set Custom Priority” (ie leave blank) the plugin works on SiteOrigin and your Inserter plugin, but the short codes do not work. ie all that is visible at the bottom of the page are the non functioning shortcodes.

    However, if I do adjust “Set Custom Priority” (lowest value = 11, highest value = 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

    3 / then the plugin still inserts, but shortcodes do not work on either the classic wordpress page or on the siteorigin page (or Gutenberg)

    FYI: I am using 2 lots of shortcodes in your plugin: “Adrotate” & “Shortcodes Ultimate” .

    Below are two links, with “Set custom priority” = 11: (The shortcodes are visible below the horizontal line.)

    It is all working.

    My webhost never replied with any answer. I suspect they don’t know why the problem came good or more to the point, they simply haven’t got a clue.

    Again, thanks for your help.

    Hi duongcuong, I woke up this morning to find that I was no longer getting the BackWPup error message emails and all is working properly again. I don’t know whether Lifetime.hosting did ‘something’ or not, their responses are terse and uninformative. I have heard nothing back from them, and they have closed off the help request.

    I will mark this as closed and resolved, however I can’t tell you why. Apologies.

    I have given a review including a 5 star rating.

    Hello duongcuong and thank you.

    I have just advised my hosting company about the tracer that dropbox aked me to get the hosting company to run and I got this reply:

    This should be resolved now.
    So please have a try again.

    I can now connect but I’m now having other transfer issues which this forum suggests is a network issue.? I am not happy with them for dismissing my question out of hand and placing the blame elsewhere.

    I have asked the webhost for an explanation and if they have the decency to reply I will post here in case other people have a similar issue. My apologies for wasting your time.

    duongcuong96 thank you I will continue my conversation with dropbox.

    Can I ask, would the ip being blocked be the webhost or my account with the hosting company?

    I will report back when this is resolved one way or the other.

    I have heard back from the web hosts after providing more info to them: Could any of this be backwpup? I will contact dropbox as well. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    This seems to be an issue at dropbox end.
    We are able to telnet all servers on port 443, except ‘ api.dropboxapi.com’ .
    So please check this with their support and make sure that there aren’t any blocks for our server IP or the port.
