Not seeing that either….do I somehow need to select a page or soeemthing first? I am using That Golf Theme as my theme but even when I tried the WordPress default themes I can’t seem to find that option.

No, not live on the net. Trying to build a site locally first. I do have a site already up that I plan on replacing. My site that is live today is a .org name. I assume the I need to enter my site locally as a .com on to try and access the admin panel? In any case I can’t get it to launch after trying every possible combination of the name that I can think of.

Is there a way to check a file to see what I entered originally for the name? If not is there a way to start over? It seems that no matter what I try I’m unable to launch the admin panel.

I should have mentioned that I am running WordPress on my local machine under Xampp. I guess my question is how do I get to the login screen again?

Success! Figured it was something on my end. Realized I needed to change the password to ‘,’ and voila! Thanks for your help.

That’s the tuourial I followed. Let me ask a dumb question, at the end when it says, In your browser, go to https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php, I type this into my browser at my home page location, right? In other words as if I was going to another web site?

I’m having the same issue and not being all that technical am having a hard time understanding the solution given here. Can someone maybe paste the updated wp-db.php file here with the correct line oe lines added? Or maybe straydog can tell me how I determine the IP address I need to enter. Thanks!

The sample db’s/programs that came with XAMPP run fine. I did away with the local host port and am now getting Object Not Found Error 404.
The path I am entering in my browser is:
https://localhost/wordpress/wordpress-2.9.2/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php

Am I getting closer?
