I have the same problem. The lower part of the library tree is invisible and I cannot scroll to the bottom.

Another thing is that now I cannot even see Media library folders in my installed plugins list ! (although the menu is still there).

I disabled the floating tree and now the bottom part is accessible. But is it a bug ? If the floating tree is not working properly then why have it at all ?

I just wanted you to know that I deleted all the duplicate records that were added on Nov-19 (delete FROM wp_posts WHERE post_type=’mgmlp_media_folder’ and post_date>makedate(2016,323);) and it seems fixed the problem.
However, I will follow your procedure with version 3.1.2 on my production site because it sounds safer.

It’s almost there, but not quite (at least for me).
I was investigating the problem too and you, of course, was faster. I dd everything on a clone of my real site.
I noticed that there were folders who’s parent folder ID was -1, which I believe was the problem.
I tried updating the parent id to the one of the “uploads” folder and then I was able to see the folders, but each folder appeared twice.
Digging a little deeper I found that for some reason, I have two instances of each folder in wp_posts table: One created on Nov-19 and one is older. It seems like the upgrade to 3.1.6 took place on Nov-19 and it created all the folders again.

Anyway, I restored a fresh backup, overwriting all the changes I made and then followed your procedure to update the folders table. It brought me to the same situation I achieved manually: It can load the folders but I see each folder twice (I will upload a screenshot if I will figure out how). Maybe the folders from Nov-19 should be deleted…

So thank you for the effort, but for me it still does not fully work.

It seems like the format in which folders are kept in the database has changed in the last version and it is now not compatible with folders created with earlier version.
I saw that on November 19, at the same time, many older folders in the posts table had been changed or recreated. I don’t really know but maybe the new version tried to make some migration process to the old folders that did not fully succeed ?
Is there any input from the developers ? Is someone working on analyzing and fixing this problem ?

I will try to dig deeper in the database, maybe I will find something.

I tried to downgrade back to version 3.1.5 but the problem remained. So I did a database reset. This stopped the “Loading” issue but now the whole directory tree is gone… I can only see a single directory that I created today. It never had problems before the version upgrade.

What can I do ?
