I’m in the same situation as reinforcemac, where I need to use the widget outside of the dynamic sidebar. This is an integral component of the interface I’d designed, and am wondering what the status of this functionality is. Also, where can I “stay tuned”?

I created a hackish version for now since it’s so integral to my interface design, but I’m also wondering if there are any workaround tutorials that anyone knows of.
