Ok, this is not resolved. I installed wp-mail-smtp as you suggested and tested to make sure it was working. I am still not getting notification emails when someone posts a comment on my Blog.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with the mail server on my website (websmithing.com).
Jeremy, why do you say the emails are not handled by Jetpack? I am looking at the subscriptions part of the Jetpack plugin and I have “Notify me of follow up comments by email” and “Notify me of new posts by email” checked.
How is this not part of Jetpack?

I honestly don’t know how complex a problem it is. That was just my anger speaking and I want to apologize for speaking without fully understanding the problem.

I’ll give them a try, thank you very much Jeremy.

Just bumping this thread here. Same problem. Has anyone addressed this now that it’s 5 months later?
thanks
NickI ended deleting the entire plugin directory and then copying your latest version (2.45) into place and everything works fine now.
thanks for your help.
NickWell, the installation method isn’t the issue. I’ve been installing plugins that way for years. I do it that way because I keep the perms on my upload directory pretty tight.

In reply to: [P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler)] Cannot read profiles directoryHey Kurt
No, there is not. As I said above, I ran “locate profiles” from the command line and did not find any directory by that name. I am suspecting that the install silently failed to create that directory (because of permissions).
I just don’t have time to go look at their sourcecode to confirm that.
