To answer my question if you just want to hide the excerpts you can comment out line 516 in the theme’s index.php.

Same bug on my end as well with current version. It’s showing the same thing.

Does anyone know of a way to hide post previews all together?

I am having the same problem, glad to hear I am not alone.

On a related topic, I am new user of this theme and can not figure out how to get rid of the default carousel that shows “Super Awesome WP Theme”, etc… What am I missing?
