How did you make it a ‘child’ off Site_one?

Sorry, I was not clear enough. A “child site” was just my way of saying that there is a setting (a meta key) that we set for each blog with update_option(“blog_parent_id”, $blog_parent_id_integer), these are used to generate a breadcrumb trail for each site so that the breadcrumb trail on Site Three looks like this:

Main Site > Site One > Site Three

Because Main Site is the parent of every site and Site Three has the meta value where the id of Site One is stored under the setting for blog_parent_id.

Update: one week later.

During the last seven days I have had Akismet running 100% and the spam count rose with 74 new spam comments caught. How many of those I could moderate: 0.

Sorry to break your illusion that two persons problems can not be identical: I also have the exact same problem as Bhooshan and would like to find out a way to solve this.

I made an experiment with my WordPress 2.2.1 installation during the last month:

First: During two weeks I had Akismet 2.0.2 running and checking the stats every day:
163 spams caught, I was not able to moderate a single one.

Second: The two weeks following that I disabled Akismet and had zero spam on my site during that period.

Something is amiss. Akismet support is not answering, I am beginning to feel a bit frustrated. What should I do?

So, I have upgraded to the very latest version of Akismet and restarted the webserver just to make sure. However, the problem persists.

I came here looking for a solution for just this problem. Looks like many are experiencing this but no solution is to be found.

Using WordPress 2.1.3, the freshest version of Akismet, auto-deleting turned off and no other spam plugins I am having the same problem as KirkM had four months ago. Anyone have any other idea what might be the root of this problem?

itsonlybarney, I have the same problem as you. I contacted Akismet about this over a month ago and still have not received an answer. (Yes, I have disabled “Automatically discard spam comments on posts older than a month.”).

How can we see the comments that Akismet marks as spam?

This seem to happen every time there is a new or edited slug or the structure of the permalinks change.

I am my own host = the server is a standard Mac OS X apache installation. I’ve never experienced any such behaviour before.

I will look into it more though.

Now each time I update the permalinks or edit anything I have to edit my permissions after. How come?
