Hello mcpeanut, thanks for using this plugin. I am sorry, but “Smart WP Login” is intended to make “WordPress Login System” smart. Other front end login plugins work with username or any other criteria that they are programmed to work with. I have no control over other plugins. Still, if you want to use emails, then stick with WP Login system. Thanks again.

Greetings, thanks for your text. Absolutely, Smart WP Login works the same way and stores email as username. With Smart WP Login, your website users don’t need to worry about usernames and hence it would be just a formality to store usernames and because we have to, we use email as username.

So, answer is Yes.

Greetings mbp, Smart WP Login works on WordPress 3.9.2 as well on 4.0 and without any issues. As per your request, I did debugging on my IDE and found no issues there. Kindly see the screenshot.

From your previous support request https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/email-as-username-5, I can see that you are using another login plugin. Kindly try to disable that plugin and then use Smart WP Login.
