    The newest timestamp of any file in my wp-admin/ folder is Jan 24th 2007. So about a year ago. Its the upgrade-functions.php file and the wp-admin.css file.

    I’m sensing I’m screwed from what you’re telling me. I have no idea how to proceed to be honest.

    Oh I see what you’re saying. I was editing my post before I saw his reply actually.. not the other way around.

    So, are there any simple checks that can be made to see if my site has been ‘exploited’?

    I don’t believe it has been but then I am not the expert here. I certainly see no signs of malicious pages/urls appearing in my bottom toolbar of the browser when executing activities in the dashboard.

    Oh and its WordPress v2.1

    I was loathe to upgrade because a) I don’t really know how and b) I was afraid upgrading would mean losing all my posts and starting from scratch, which I simply cannot afford to do right now.

    Well with me using sidebar widgets I cannot get to the widget code inside my admin dashboard. I went to my site and did “view source” and this is what I get:

    <li id="archives" class="widget widget_archives">                       <h2
    class="widgettitle">Archives</h2>

                           <ul>
                                   <li><a

                           </ul>
                   </li>

    I would post you the actual sidebar.php code but as I am not using the default sidebar.php, do you still need it?

    Thread Starter nitecloak

    (@nitecloak)

    I’m using the WordPress Default theme v1.6 by Michael Heilemann and Sidebar Widgets instead of the default sidebar.php

    I don’t know what to look for though because I am not a developer or coder, just a user, and even if I knew what to look for I wouldn’t know what to do to rectify it.

    Can you offer me some guidance?

    Thank you. That was my goal.

    Bump.

    Gallery 2.x does all you need an a lot more besides.

    It is possible to seamlessly integrate Gallery v2.x with WordPress. Have a look at this blog to see an example.

    I suggest you visit this the Gallery site itself and go here: Gallery2:Integration:Available Integrations. to learn more.

    You could wait for Owen Winkler’s next incarnation of his popular Exhibit plugin. Read his blog about it here.
