In reply to: [DK Responsive] How to remove the archive section ?Hey, if I’m understanding you, that’s a widget. You can remove it in the Dashboard by going to Appearance > Widgets, locating it in its widget area (sidebar, footer) on the right, and dragging it out.

In reply to: [Awesome Filterable Portfolio] Two different portfoliosThis is a VERY slick plugin…..but, yes, very limiting in some ways.
Support for multiple portfolios would be extremely useful…as would support for more than one category per element. I’d also dearly love to be able to display the categories in a drop down menu, which would solve space issues when there’s more than just a few categories.

In reply to: [Super RSS Reader - Add attractive RSS Feed Widget] Fixed Widget HeightThis is exactly my question…..well, sort of. My reason for wanting to do so is to stop the elements below the RSS ticker from moving up and down as the widget changes heights to accommodate longer and shorter entries.
Turned out, it was easy enough to figure out the element to target with CSS in order to make the widget wrapper a fixed height. But the ticker elements “contained” therein continue to spill out beyond the bottom bounds of the wrapper when that content gets longer.
What I’d like is to be able to make any overflow beyond the bottom of the wrapper invisible until it moves up high enough into the wrapper. My first thought was to set an OVERFLOW: HIDDEN; property….but that didn’t work. (Would’ve been too easy, eh? lol.) I’ve been tinkering since but haven’t managed to hit on the magic formula.
I want the widget’s wrapper to be a fixed frame within which the ticker animates. Can anyone help with that, please?
Thanks!

In reply to: Page, cloneBut, as I’ve unfortunately found…if you also have the All In One Event Calendar plugin installed, chances are the Duplicate Post plugin will not work correctly due to a conflict that’s apparently not getting resolved ??
My issues include:
1. There are something on the order of 1,000 members in the Cvent-exported spreadsheet, and
2. The field headers obviously don’t match the field headers in the template spreadsheet provided for use with this plugin, so
3. Particularly for a relative neophyte like myself, it looks like an altogether daunting task to try to massage the Cvent info into a format that PMPro will accept.Am I overthinking this? Can I, for example, simply rename the column headers in the Cvent-exported spreadsheet to match them up with the various fields allowed in PMPro? And what about any information that DOESN’T fall into one of PMPro’s accepted categories?
I prepared a single-entry sample from the Cvent spreadsheet but it turns out I can’t attach that here ??
Nobody’s taken info from Cvent and imported it into PMPro? I’m primarily a designer so this is throwing me and Googling hasn’t turned up much, either ??
Okay, well…if my experience is typical, then it looks like Paid Memberships Pro needs to update their documentation, which instructs to download the .zip file, upload it into the ‘plugins’ directory (I tried both the zipped and extracted folder, to no avail), and then activate it via the plugins page of the WP dashboard.
When that didn’t work, I deleted the plugin from the server and approached things from the ‘Add New Plugin’ > ‘Upload’ function. I selected the .zip file and WP uploaded and activated it, no problem.
So…problem resolved. But your documentation should probably be updated.

In reply to: [Parabola] Set length of slideshow?Yes, sorry – as far as I know, the slider built into the theme can only appear on the Presentation page.

In reply to: [Parabola] Set length of slideshow? In the Parabola Settings > Presentation Page > Slider Settings, you can change both the length of time each slide is visible and motionless, and the speed of whichever animated transition you’ve selected.
edit: Sorry, that’s using the slider built-in to the Parabola theme.

In reply to: [Parabola] create page with the latest postsSimilar.
I combing the settings, it appears I can EITHER a) use the Parabola presentation page, OR b) set a static home page and a separate posts page. I’d like to keep Parabola’s presentation page AND specify a separate posts page for my blog entries.
Am I missing something?
Thanks!

In reply to: Reverting to prior themeThanks! I would NEVER edit the CSS file – or any theme files – directly! ??
These are changes I’ve made via the custom CSS fields in Theme Options. We’re upgrading from the Lite version of our theme to the Premium version. I just didn’t expect that change (as opposed to switching from one theme to an entirely different one) to result in the layout being as borked as it was. I had to massage the CSS quite a bit in order to coax things back into their places. Interestingly, the Premium theme automatically imported some but not all of the custom CSS from the Lite theme. I don’t know why it left some of the CSS out. I mean, it isn’t even as though the bits left behind referred to elements that were unavailable in the Premium version – in fact, grabbing some of the unimported code and pasting it into the Premium’s custom CSS field was the key to getting various elements to resume their places.
Mysterious. The theme is from InkThemes, by the way. Don’t know whether or not there are known issues with their themes…

In reply to: Incorporating paid memberships and merchandiseThanks for that input, James. (I’d posted just before leaving work for the weekend or I would have responded earlier.)
That article looks helpful – I’ll have to read through it later today. The membership plugin I’ve been mucking about with is Paid Memberships Pro which, until it seemed to lose track of the pages it set up itself, was looking quite promising but I would need to, as you suggest, drop in a additional plugin to handle the merchandise/tix. I was hoping to keep it to a single plugin to keep potential conflict headaches to a minimum, but…..oh, well, eh? ??
Thanks again!
