In reply to: blockquote style breaks after first paragraphwell, now there is only one blockquote tag enclosing all those paragraphs, i undid the wrap i had around each single paragraph. so, as i said, the styling drops after one paragraph.
anyone have any idea?

In reply to: Container Ends Prematurely?found it. simpler than one could hope.
in the stylesheet was a “#container{” style that actually had a “min-height” specifier. bang.

In reply to: Container Ends Prematurely?this is probably far too convoluted. i could have made this simpler, should have. maybe i’ll repost it at a later point.
basically, on single post pages, the blog ends, and all the images etc in my sidebar still can be seen. but with no background. can’t figure out how to make the page look right with a short post.

In reply to: Comments Don’t Have Permalinksthank you for that moshu, i will fool around with that example and see if i can make it work, and if so, will be back to close/resolve this issue.

In reply to: Comments Don’t Have PermalinksI believe you, thank you, moshu.
Is there a particular place I should drop that in? A tag I should replace? Thanks.

In reply to: Comments Don’t Have PermalinksOtto42, I really appreciate that little tweak. I like that. Unfortunately, it’s not the actual problem I’m hoping to fix. Let me try to be clearer, sorry.
FIrstly, my comments.php file is here. (Done before I made the changes you helped me with.)
What I mean is this. On all blogs normally, you can link to any comment. Just as a post has a permalink, so do comments.
But on this theme, there are none! Ideally, where it says ” [commenter] said, on December 14th, 2007 at 12:28 pm” I would like that to be a link to the comment.
Can you help with this?

In reply to: Theme does not accept line breaksand my only excuse for missing such a retrospectively easy problem is that i’ve worked in Movable Type since 2003…this is my first WP blog. if that excuses me at all. ??
thanks again.

In reply to: Theme does not accept line breaksthank you all SO much. what i did was combine the info you gave me (the other approaches were not working):
#content p { margin: 0; margin-bottom: 10px; padding: 0; }
You have saved my life. THANK you.

In reply to: Theme does not accept line breakslet me try this now

In reply to: Theme does not accept line breakseven the comments refuse to show paragraph breaks. if that helps at all?
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme does not accept line breakshmm. well. i put it in there just as garbanzo typed it here. copy and paste. and still no luck. frustrating.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme does not accept line breaksone question: would it matter where i put it into the stylesheet? or is that irrelevant? i’ve noticed with some descriptors and classes, it does seem to matter, and with others it doesn’t. is this one?
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme does not accept line breaksThanks for answering, Garbanzo. I was SO hoping that would fix it. But as you can see on the actual live site I worked on, it has not. Note the blockquote for a clear example. I changed the styles.css as you said, even made it 20px.
Any idea why it didnt take?

In reply to: How can I remove the sidebars from dark city theme– link tab bar thingie is “.nav” in your stylesheet. the colored bar under it is coded as your “search” info in your stylesheet. the gradient is actually a slim “bg” image.
– sidebars are a) sidebar.php
– other sidebar (left, i think) is coded in your header.php file, strangely enough.
