Only times that I’ve seen that error is if the U or P is incorrect. Others here may know other causes. Make sure your conf file matches this (with your info of course):

define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘actual name here’); // The name of the database
define(‘DB_USER’, ‘database name here’); // Your MySQL username
define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘database password here’); // …and password
define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘localhost’); // 99% chance you won’t need to change this value

Also most times you create a user and DB you have to “assign” that user to the database (give him permissions to access the DB). I have no idea about your host but my host adds my host account name followed by an underscore in front of all database names and users. For example if I create a database called “wordpress” it actually gets created as:

domainusername_wordpress

Talk to your host about the error they should be able to tell you whats wrong.

wow, who the heck are you hosting with anyway? Go find yourself better hosting man. Lots of places to look for one (webhostingtalk.com, whreviews.com, premium20.com)

I really do like your main page theme, nice clean layout. Is that totally custom or based on something else?

Well there may be 1K themes in there but too many are basically the same thing just a different color or some minor change. But the point is well taken.

Just my op but it seems a little bland. Reminds me of some phpnuke website.

You know, one of the first things you learn is that just about any community is more then happy to help you. But like all things you should first try to help yourself. Doing some basic web searches is the bare minimum.

Unfortunately I’ve searched through that site (and the other more common sites) and found nothing. I was hoping to run into a WP user that may have run into something.

There aren’t too many of them and IMHO ecommerce lite is prob the best of them.

Gallery2 comes with photoalbum and basic shopping cart features so it may be a viable option since its pretty easy to integrate.

I’ve found ZenPhoto and Gallery2 to be fairly easy to integrate into WP and pretty light.

I also needed an integrated Forum and never did find one that I liked. XDF and bbpress just didn’t have the features I needed. I ended up using punBB since it was very easy to integrate.

I think for a smaller/casual site the WP hosting is fine, but as soon as you want to do a bit of customizing/have more control then its time to move on.

Yep you will definately loose a sense of community but then again there are other communities out there. Find yourself a web host that has customer forums. You’ll find that many of these are great communities and sources of information.

I don’t really think that in todays world a change in URL will confuse people. Keep your WP site up for a bit and point it to your new site. Notify your users with plenty of time.

If you care enough about the outside links find them and then have people update them.

Just b/c you host your site with someone other then WP doesn’t mean there is no support. There are many excellent hosting companies that provide excellent support. Head over to sites like https://www.webhostingtalk.com and do a few searches.

Also it’s not very hard to move your website to another. As a matter of fact once you’re off WP hosting its generally easier. For example if you go from one CPanel host to another completly moving your sight is a matter of a few clicks.

just had a gaming theme created by Brandon at Pixeljar.net, they did a great job (IMHO) getting it to look like we wanted and integrating a bunch of scripts. Would highly recommend them.
