while i paid for the development of this my plans is to package this up for public release.

Really a very nice theme. I liked the clean layout, really goes well with your art (which is very cool indeed).

Very nice and clean, I really liked it. Excellent theme.

not sure if a plugin is what would be needed to get this done but I would love to see this integrated to WP

To each their own and I do think that WP may have an edge in some areas. What may be easy for some people to do is difficult for others. I have had a GREAT deal more hassle getting WP ‘customized’ then some other scripts like Drupal and e107. If you have a pretty simple theme “skinning” punBB is pretty straight forward. But I’ve tried this on over 20 themes and most of the times it doesn’t work well and is a major pain.

While rockworship has a nicely integrated punBB install I don’t think thats a fair comparison. You’re comparing a basic install vs one that is not even available to WP unless you use another product (punBB) and then do your research and hack it to look integrated.

Plenty of nice looking Drupal sites out there (www.spreadfirefox.com, creativebits.org, https://urlgreyhot.com/personal, etc… take a look at https://top.drupalsites.net/) and no they do not all look like that. Thats like saying that all K2 base installs look like each other.

Now I don’t mean to rile anyone up, WP is great and awesome if you want a blog but if you need more features like a CMS then there are other scripts out there that you should be considering. I’m not a programmer or designer so I look for solutions that are relatively simple, if I want a forum then I want it built in.

IMHO using WP as more then just a blog is doable but depending on what you need its requires much more effort. Most of my sites require a forum, event calendar, etc… While there are some plugins and solutions for WP they work in varying degrees. I found it much easier to just use e107 or Drupal for those sites then to try to hack things into WP.

I didn’t change anything before it stopped working “all of a sudden”. After doing some goggle searchs this lead me to speak with the network admins and it looks like someone made a change to our firewall. Added the domain to the whitelist and all is well.

I actually was just playing around with various CMS scripts when I ran into WP. Not a CMS but I thought I would give it a whirl and see what happened.

What I found is that I really really loved WP, not sure what hooked me but I just really like the look and fee. Its very polished and I like the way it “does” most things.

Now the bad. If you’re not looking for just a blog then you quickly run into a wall. You have to start hacking and making compromises. Which I know some people will say WP is what it is. But I think that misses the point. WP could be so much more and you can do it via plugins, those that don’t want a feature don’t have to use it.

I for one require a forum (and yes punBB is great but getting it imbedded into a theme is hit or miss), a photogallery, event calendar and a wrapper (allows you to imbed other scripts inside your WP site). More often then not I find myself having to settle for something I like less then WP b/c WP can’t do what I want it to do without turning myself inside out.

Its clean not boring. I like the simple lines and use of color for the most part. While I like the color grey I’m not sure if thats the best one to use with this here, but thats just a nitpick.

Nice themes, clean lines. I agree with the comment about the header doesn’t stand out enough.

Not my favorite but I can see it has potential with some spit and polish.

Thanks to this post I got EC3.04 looking nice in its own page. I still would like something a little more robust, anyone know of a good event calendar for WP2?

Superb. One of the best custom WP websites that I’ve ever seen. Hopefully someday you get around to making it compliant but not a major deal. The text contrast is a bit less then ideal but still very readable so again no biggie.

    Overall a great job.
