@kevinb Good news!
With a fresh WP installation all things works like expected, so now I ‘only’ have to find out, why the production site have different behavior… ??
According to this discussion my problem is resolved – thank you much!

@kevinb Thanks for giving me these suggestions (I had not yet noticed that apparently the treatment of access protection in SWPM has changed).
I will set up a fresh WordPress test instance to process and log all interesting steps (first install SWPM, than PPP), so that we have a traceable process and – may be – better understanding of the effects. I will write down all in our wiki – how can I give you access to it?
I’ll be back after that.
Regards, Knut@macmanx Thank you for clarification, I will respect that in future.
And again: beg everyone’s pardon.@all Friendly ping…
Please: could anyone give me a hint, how I get back the SWPM settings (controlling access of content based on member roles) after deactivating or removing PPP?
I didn’t find anything in the ‘haze’ ofUser Role Editor
, that could cause this behavior and this dependency I do not find logical either.
Maybe there is no direct interference between SWPM and PPP, but obviously between PPP and special things in settings dialogs for posts, pages, categories etc.Regards

Hi @macmanx,
I beg your pardon for that and yes: I was too fast! ??
My aspiration was not to enforce or speed up anything, only to (let) correct things.
After recognizing that the thread was marked as solved (not by me!) I looked around to change the state with initially no success (sorry). So my idea was the reporting, believing a mod can change the state. Some time after that I found the place to change the state and set it back to unresolved, since my problem is still persistent.
Regards, Knut@stevejburge You stated that PPP do NOT interfere with SWPM.
I can’t believe that, because (I wrote this already in my opening post):- with PPP active I see SWPM special settings posibilities (i.e. in category edit screen), but cannot use them (they are not stored) and also I see PPP special posibilities
- with PPP inactive all special settings disappear
How is the display of the DIV with id=”poststuff” handled by PPP (because that DIV disappers after deactivating PPP)?
@stevejburge O.K., I’ll be back if I have succeeded (to help someone with same issue) ??
@kevinb Thank you for quick response.
Yes, we haveUser Role Editor
andAdminimize
active. So I will continue my investigations there.
Besides that: I’m wondering, why the access control settings ofSWPM
are disappear after deactivation ofPPP
. Also an effect of the user role plugins? Hmmm…Hello,
upgraded to 5.9.9 this moment, issue fixed.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
KnutHi Josh,
just another notice of deprecated code (in case you missed it till now):
[14-Oct-2020 16:14:54 Europe/Berlin] PHP Deprecated: filter_input(): FILTER_SANITIZE_MAGIC_QUOTES is deprecated, use FILTER_SANITIZE_ADD_SLASHES instead in .../wp-content/plugins/sendpress/classes/class-sendpress-security.php on line 251
Same is in line 222 of this file.

In reply to: [SendPress Newsletters] Sendpress and attachments?Good morning Josh,
your suggestion don’t solve the problem for me, because links in newsletters do not work (I send you two messages about this fact to [email protected] – the last one yesterday) by leading to the start page instead of content itself. I followed your hints (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/links-not-working-or-email-showing-404-pages/) without any success.
For instance: the link inside the newsletter
https://bv-produktion.de/sendpress/eyJpZCI6MCwicmVwb3J0IjoxODgsInZpZXciOiJ0cmFja2VyIiwidXJsIjoiaHR0cHM6XC9cL2J2LXByb2R1a3Rpb24uZGVcL2Rvd25sb2FkXC8yMDA1MjAtY2hlY2tsaXN0ZS1mdWVyLXNhcnMtY292LTItYmVkaW5ndGVuLW1laHJhdWZ3YW5kLXVuZC1tZWhya29zdGVuXC8ifQ/
inserted with
[wpdm_package id=’769′]
should lead to
https://bv-produktion.de/download/200520-checkliste-fuer-sars-cov-2-bedingten-mehraufwand-und-mehrkosten/
instead of start page.I maintain another website, where it works properly, but cannot find any difference (same versions of WordPress and Sendpress). The only idea left is, that the theme prevents the correct function. Where can I start debugging?
Because anything is configured (it’s a website for an association with many members [newsletter subscribers]) I don’t want to change the plugin, but would have to do if I can’t bring sendpress to ‘fly’… ??
