Would it be possible to point me to the particular security setting that helped you out? I am having a similar issue on our lab website. I also noticed the eternal spinning wheel to appear only when in-text references are used solely. When I insert bibliography at the same time on the same page, the spinning wheel on the in-text references is gone.
