I just noticed something in Fantasico inside CPANEL where I did the double click upgrade…

    it says…
    *********

    UPDATE NOW!
Following installations are not up-to-date. Keep your installations secure and up-to-date and ensure that future versions of Fantastico will be able to maintain your installations by updating now.

    WordPress
    Location Installed Version Upgrade Link
    rosslangdon.com/ Only manual upgrade possible
    **********

It doesn’t show an installed version and says only a manual upgrade is possible. This mean? Did it not work fully?

    sorry
    to explain…

the flash files are actually in a folder inside ‘ross’ dumbfoundedly also named ‘ross’

    root
    – ross
    — wpfiles here
    — ross
    ——- flash files

ahh sorry its been a while since i looked at this… its in

    https://www.drewheath.com/ross

    which a subdomain of ross

    ross.drewheath.com

The subdomain (which is in the folder ross) has its own domain name of https://www.rosslangdon.com

So the files are inside a folder called ‘ross’ – and that is how it worked fine before the upgrade. It obviously finds the files such as wp-blog-header.php correctly but doesnt’ recognise the function wp() anymore.

The wp-blog-header.php page has not changed from the older versions…

thanks for the reply. Any advice?

mmm I hadn’t thought of the issue of leaving it open, I was thinking of learning to make a plugin but time is in short supply as usual and budgets low.

option b looks a lot better when I think about it…

I’m reading the Adding Administrtion Menus page in the codex and wonder if I could still get away with somehow creating a button on the interface for Menu Builder they can click, that taking them to my password login for extra security? I don’t really know if that is possible though.

Its whether or not I can easily add a button to the interface which points to my separate login page that leads to my own created pages.

Thanks for the feedback, I hadn’t considered the security aspect of it being left open. The owner would consider that critical – imagine if someone wrote garbage in the resaurant menu… thanks.

i used this on a client’s site – can’t show it at present as its not live and have no permission… but basically I made the home page static, then made a number of pages with different templates, while index (the blog) runs smoothly as a subpage in there as well.

the instructions are quite easy and straight forward. Good luck.

This still seems to change the date site wide and not just in the archives list in the sidebar.

Thanks… I worked out the bug. Just a FYI then. When I used ?page_id=about or ?page_id=archives the variable wp_title() for some reason was archives in both cases… so that’s why I couldn’t peel off the right page…

but when I went back to the ?page_id=”9″ and ?page_id=”11″ it worked.

Thus is_page(‘9’) actually worked but not is_page(‘about’). Kinda weird but working fine now. Thanks again. By the way how do I resolve this post?

You know how when you click an image to right align and it puts <p align=”right”> in the xhtml?

Well I’d like to be able to alter this by floating the image…

I’ve been over the code a lot and can’t find where I could alter this feature?

Any clues on which folder or files I should be looking for..???
