I just deleted the app. and the side bar was gone. I think there are several sidebars to choose from out there. It has been a while since I researched. It is a pain to researh. There was one that kind of worked, but they wanted money for the app, and considering it was possible that they could also go out out of business, I chose to not ues any apps that changed the layout of my site.

You will need to remove the plug-in. There are same replacments out there. I found one that was the same, but there was a cost, so I just said forget it and changed the design of my site. W-Site looks better now. Funny how you get used to using something. Good luck.

I used the plugin for several years, but it is not maintained and does not work on my site at all anymore. I had to remove it. I used simple text on the top of each topic, which actually works better with mobile. The wizard does not work well with mobile at all.

https://www.designchemical.com had a website with the code, but the site was removed, but I do still have the plugin on my computer, but you would need to know coding to make it work.

You can use https://widget-options.com/ , which does the same thing, but you will need to pay them for the premium version to style it to look like you want.

However, again, it will not work well with mobile applications, so I would suggest redesigning your site without a sidebar or if you can find a plugin that works well with mobile.

FYI: Not sure, but this company offers the same plugin, but I do not know if they support it.

Do you back up of the entire web site? If so, restore it.

The plug in is not supported. I use it, but very carefully. I update other plugins manually, but back up before I make any changes to my site.

It is not a risk to use with a back up, but using an unsupported plug-in without a back up is risky.

Can you tell me where the lines would be with custom Menu Wizard Widget?

Hi Chris- thank you for providing the code. but is it not clear where I would make that change.

I am using what appears to be the same plug-in, as I tested the wizard version and it works exactly the same. It would be very dificult to change the plug-in, but I assume it is the same code used for the wizard widget. It is called jQuery Vertical Mega Menu, and it is not on the word press site any more. Like the Custom menu wizard, it is not maintained.

FYI: I looked just about everywhere you can. In the plug-in, that I downloaded, in the theme child. I was not able to find a plug-in editor, as my theme is not supported anymore.

I really tried to find the words the files I have, but I could not find them anywhere. I looked for walker, which I found in the dcwp file that I downloaded, which said codewalkers.com

I researched finding a replacement about 6 months ago, and did not find any that was as similar except for https://www.megamenu.com/ but you will need to pay for for the upgrade version for it to work well. .Also it is not as easy as Custom Menu Wizard Widget

Plus it is not updated to work with the current wordpress version. This is what the non-pro version looks like. It does not allow you to adjust the size of the side bar, which is why you need the pro-version to make it work correctly.

According to my host, the only reason to update the PHP is for security reasons. However, if you already have your security set up correctly you really do not need to update the php. So, if the custom menu widget is work you do not need to fix it. That is why I have not switched to Mega menu yet, and I will not change unless I have to.

If you find another plugin that is as as easy, and up-to-date. please let me know. ??

I cannot update to php 8, but I do not think the plug in is being maintained, which is a bummer, as it is a very good plug-in. I do not think the developer has responded to any user in over 3 years.

Thank you for getting back to me. I has been 6 weeks and I think I solved my issue with the plug-in I am currently using. if I have the issue in the future, I will contact you though the per-purchase link you provided.

I checked in settings and discovered that my role was author so I changed that to administrator, which may be the issue, as there it no option to tick the author.

I did noticed that I had to press the SAVE ALL BUTTON several times and FINALLY it saved and the error went away.

The settings are

1. leave From email blank

2. Set the default recipients for any admin-facing notifications: I choose All “Administrator” Users. And I am the only Administrator, so that works.

If not, simply reproduce the Default Recipients[user_list] must contain at least 1 item. error and monitor the Developer Console window for any new errors.

Honestly, I am not sure how to read the developers info or it all means.

I asked for support and they said I needed to add a “Health Check” Plug-in and deactivate each plug-in to find a conflict. I did and find a conflict and pointed ot the it was their plugin.

However, because you do not have an active account or support subscription, I’ll go ahead and close this ticket. If further support is needed, you can reach out to the free community forums here.”

All they did was say there was nothing they could do. So I pointed out that they have not receive a positive feed back in 6 months and that no one likes there new format.
