you can remove the following line from page.php and index.php from the theme you are using

A better idea would be to give us a link to your site
to understand better the problem

I think u forgot to change the background to transparent,you must remove ENTIRELY the background-thats the magic of .png,for the IE pray to work right or u ‘ll have to write a lot of “css IE only”

A very typical problem.If your theme uses background-images(on menu sidebars …) change those images(usually in directory wp-content->yurtheme->images) with transparent-images,if u dont have any, create them on photoshop using OPACITY and save them as .png
