Thanks, I am aware of that, however it looks like this forces the language string as part of the URL for all languages (i.e. example.com/fr/). What I meant was have the French translation (which is not the default language) not show up as part of the URL.

Currently this is only possible for the default language, correct?

[EDIT] Sorry, I originally posted the following but then realised the discussion was about the floating switcher instead of the menu one

For the floating switcher it would require some small changes at includes/class-language-switcher.php but they would naturally risk getting lost on each plugin update -though some might not mind.
