In reply to: Blog /w own “hacks”I had to force myself to actually click through the “splashes”. Nether one is nessesary and carry zero information (the tiny blah piece on the second splash can be happily tucked away on some about page, since nobody cares anyways).
I have 20/20 vision and I am sitting in front of a sweet 1280×1024 LCD … your font is way to small and white/grey on black just makes things worse. Makes it a pain in the arse to read … so I still don’t know what your blog is about.Forum: Your WordPress

In reply to: Dealing with posts in Month blocks…Please Helpmatius: My guess is that get_archives is an SQL query that will fetch entries between certain dates … so to change this you’ll probably have to change WP code. Having a couple of posts from April showing in you May *monthly* archives would defeat the purpose of a *monthly* archive.
Further more, showing a extra posts from April in you May archive will not solve your problem since it’s CSS based and depends on reader’s screen size, font size etc. At 640×480 the footer in monthly archives is “aligned” with your sidebar. It may look fine on you screen, but someone may have a 24″ CRT with massive resolution and it will still look like shit. It’s a CSS issue.
I don’t see any purpose for your “footer” since it is the same as the menu on the right and the left … ?
You can just move the footer div to appear below the columns or separate it and put two divs within to align it any way you like.
Mark: One of the most popular browsers out there can’t handle min-anything properly, so can’t use it.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: ALL IN FAVOUR OF ENDING THIS GEORGIA LOVE FEST, Sallusion: I curse Microsoft for creating Comic Sans, which is the worst font in the world and they has the balls to bastardise Helvetica a.k.a. Arial. Arggg!
eke: Yes, Lucida Grande is a very nice font. But Windows users will not see it and I find it narrowish for large block of text.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: ALL IN FAVOUR OF ENDING THIS GEORGIA LOVE FEST, SGeorgia is somewhat overused in WP, especially considering that it is used everywhere. Thank the lord that it’s not Comic Sans (I’ve seen people use it on business cards. What were they thinking?) or Trebuchet (Ok for headings, but annoying for blocks of text.) everywhere. But as Anon said this is very easy to change by opening your CSS file and changing a couple of lines.
I do feel that login to post should be mandatory. It would deal with a lot of unnecessary posts and cut down on the noise.Forum: Plugins

Will make sure that the list is only displayed in single entry view. That said the chaching issue worries me a bit (since my SQL datatbase is a bit iffy at times). Do you have a link to Adam’s post?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [req] Related Entries Pluginmilelu: Your hack is pretty much what I am looking for ??
What is that caching issue you mention at the end of the post?
Can I place relatedposts() in index.php? I don’t see anything in the code that would prevent me from doing so. Just wondering since you suggest wp-comments.php in your post.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: How about moving this forum to Beehive? With many more people using these forums it is becoming difficult to find what you are looking for and “mini” in miniBB is there for a reason ?? That said I am not a big fan of Beehive … prefer phpBB or even vBulletin.

In reply to: Simply proud ! ;-)Very nicely done. I really like the colours and the layout, although conventional (not to say that I’ve managed to do better, not at all).
The non-SGML character errors are kind of weird. The validator is tripping on almost every ‘ and even regular letters. Very odd.
