In reply to: RSS feedsIf you have rewrite rules working appending /feed/ to your URI will give you the main RSS feed … appending /feed/ to a category archive link will produce RSS feed for that category etc. Very handy.
Otherwise you have links to your main RSS and Comments feeds in you menu bar on the right.Forum: Everything else WordPress

In reply to: 1.2 plugin request: Close comments after X time.https://theubergeeks.net/index.php?p=162 is a “better” solution (although it is yet to be shared), since posts may drop off the front page sooner that the interest (and relevant comments) in that particular entry.

In reply to: adding my comments to the comments????With 1.2 you should be able to pull this off, since it has 2 fields (Excerpt and Entry Body) plus you can have custom fields, as many as you want. So the process of setting this up will be bretty much the same as with MT. I am not sure how one would go about setting up a template where it would show excerpts in a certain location (a thumbnail index at the bottom of sorts), but download an MT template that uses the above approach i.e. HINAGATA, which is the best MT photoblog template IMHO … then try substituting MT tags with WP tags and see what happens.

In reply to: Updating from 1.0.2There are a number of things you should watch out for, especially if your 1.0.2 installation was heavily hacked:
1) Some hacks may break even with my-hack.php backward compatability enabled.
2) Some tags have changed as well, so watch out.
3) I had a problem with wp-comments.php, just copy the new header and everything should work.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: OT: Google and WaypathI am with Anon on this one. I’ve been more than upset when Google pulled up blogs with nothing more than a rather irrelevant Waypath link.

In reply to: format date like news pages?mark,
The problem is not with the date tag, but with content tag which is automatically placed within p-tags w/o any reasonable way to turn it off (except for turning off wpautop, which I don’t want to do). So even if the date tag is placed w/o h* tags around it, p-tags around content will start a new line.Forum: Themes and Templates

In reply to: Validation1. JavaScript should be javascript, lowercase. I think you JS scripts are called incorrectly.
2. Close li tags before ul.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: CSS, Mac ie5, and the #MenuI’m with AK on this one. Anyone using IE 5 on Mac should be shot, because it’s CSS support lacks (understatement), buggy, unstable and MS does not even ‘support’ it anymore. Safari/Firefox/Camino are the browsers you should be worried about. My site looks like shit on IE for Mac and I could care less.

In reply to: Different categories shown in the main pageYes, I have something similar although much simpler setup on my site. Smaller news blurbs are styled in a differently from main entries.
