In reply to: Number of posts in archives view@anon: Hmm, I am looking at your site right now and I don’t see the “bloating” you mention (category list at the top-right corner?).
@bronksi: I am using 1.0.2, so the problems you are experiencing may be a bug with that particular build and/or 1.2 syntax is different.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: A bit of css help pleaseAre you using a PNG by any chance? To me it looks like an IE PNG problem and not a CSS one.

In reply to: Alternating comment backgroundsI’ve had this working with my comments for a couple of days now using JavaScript and ‘proper’ stylized divs. The only ‘problem’ I see with the above aproaches is that it will only put the backround behind comment/post text, leaving date/name/title unstyled.

In reply to: ie and firefox questions1) Your header image is called in a ‘odd’ manner … </img>? Just close <img …. /> ??
2) Try using /blog/images/banner.jpg path.
3) IE 5.2 Mac is the worst browser in the world, so don’t worry about it. Anyone using IE 5.2 on a Mac needs major therapy. I use Firefox 0.8 almost exclusively and I don’t see the blueish colours you mention.Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: My first photo blogYes, you can edit .center class to add 1px whote and 1px black borders:
.center {
border: 1px solid #000;
background: #FFF;
margin-top: 5px;
margin-bottom: 5px;
padding: 1px;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
display: block;
text-align: center;
}
.center2 {
border: none;
background: #FFF;
margin-top: 5px;
margin-bottom: 5px;
padding: 1px;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
display: block;
text-align: center;
}
You don’t have to edit your index.php, just the few entries that you have right now to use .center2 class instead (since they already have a border around them).
Yes, it will speed up the load of your page since your stylesheet will be smaller in size … but the speed increase will be VERY VERY VERY small ?? So you wont notice it.Forum: Themes and Templates

@sushubh: Good race and a good show from JB even though he is still 9 secs off MS pace. A little quite by JPM from the press conference (that you may not have heard), very funny … he is such a sore looser.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Ran Out Of MemoryHDD space is cheaper than memory and/or processor cycles … hence the shutting down of WP blogs. This is also something that hosts don’t publicize, i.e. they say what the cap on you bandwidth is, but not how much memory and/or processor cycles you can use.
33 queries @ 1.449 secs for me, so your stats are no *that* much higher despite a huge links list.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Syntax colout in online editor?There is a MT plugin to beautify the code. A two pane layout would be an interesting solution to this:
| Editor using a smallish monotype font | Live Preview w/ colour |
This is just an idea that would be a very cool.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Posts from NewNewsWatcherYep, neither ecto nor NewNewsWire work with 1.0.2 or even 1.2 alpha … properly. Some people managed to get them working, but some features don’t work and sometimes they end up messing up their entries. My advice would be to stick with the web interface for now.
