In reply to: MT import and searchenginesI think it takes google about 2 weeks to reindex your site. I did a stupid thing of deleting my MT archives as well, so every google query get a 404 for now … I make changes to .htaccess to redirect all 404s to my index page, no time to make a proper 404.

A very good articles on liquid v. fixed layout. At the end of the day it’s personal preference. I have a redesign in the works, but I’ll wait for 1.2 to go stable before implementing it.Forum: Your WordPress

In reply to: Migration completedallusion: I padded the text on the left by a couple of pixels, so it should be easier to read now. Thanks.
rayne: Thank you.
I don’t know why, but conversion from MT to WP really screwed up my validation. (My MT site validated right before the conversion). MT entries have extra br and p tags … will take a lot of time to fix.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Migration from MTI am doing the exact same thing right now (migrating from MT to WP). Just open your MT index template and clear out all the code except for divs and label the space between the divs to help yourself. Then just copy and paste PHP code from WP’s index.php in the appropriate locations in the cleaned up WP index template. Load it up and see how it displays, then fix any problems issues. Thats what I did and it literally took me minutes to make my WP look identical to my current MT site … tweaking the comments will take a few more. I think I have a blurb on my site on this.

In reply to: WP for my site?I had pM installed and overall it is a very good package. In the short time that I’ve had to play with WP … I am VERY impressed. A lot of out-of-the-box features that I used MT-Plugins for.
What I really want to do is integrate my Photo Gallery into my blog … I’ve seen a few WP hacks that seem to address that, but have not had a chance to try them yet. Heh, I am still figuring out the architecture of things since its quite different from MT. If I can integrate my gallery with WP, then I will switch in an instant. I have no need for a coplete CMS system and wish to solve this with WP / pM / MT (which can’t do it properly for several reasons, I’ve looked).Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: WP for my site? It’s bad manners to reply to your own post, but I just installed WordPress on my PowerBook in about 5 minutes ??
