If you use the podPress podcast feed then you need to adjust the related setting on the Feed/iTunes Settings page of podPress. The option there is named “max. amount of posts per feed”.

The easiest way is probably to use the [display_podcast] placeholder. You may use it at the beginning of the post content or any other place – also at the end of the content. Simply copy this code into the post editor and save the post.

I have started to do this. The current development version contains already the changes I have made so far. The next version will load the scripts only on admin pages with podPress elements.

if you use a podPress Feed then you can alter the feed title/name by editing the feed name attribute of the podPress Feed. You can find the setting on the Feed/iTunes Settings page of podPress in the section podPress Feeds.

If the feed is a category feed then the possibilities to change the feed title are more limited.

Is it correct that you have registered https://www.theothershore.org/feed/podcast at the iTunes podcast repository?

I made a little test and the problem is maybe the permalink function of WP. You cannot have a page with the slug name podcast while you have a feed with (almost) the same name. I recommend that you change the slug name of the page podcast-2 to podcasts.

Why do “feel” like the XML could be the problem?

I think the problem could be the some trouble with the feed URL. For instance: If you open the default podcast feed URL – in your case: https://www.theothershore.org/feed/podcast the request gets redirected to https://www.theothershore.org/podcast-2/ .
That makes the podcast feed not available. That is probably why your iTunes pages does not show any podcast episode and because there is no podcast episode the other error message may occur.
I suggest we try to solve the redirection problem and see what happens with the availability in the US.

regarding the feed problems: It would be great if you could tell me the name of your blog (or maybe the feed URL).

regarding the S3 URLs: iTunes recognizes media files only if the URL ends with a typical file name with a file name extension of one of the supported file types like .mpg or .m4a. If the S3 URLs end just with a lot of alphanumeric characters then it does not recognize the video as real file.

You may use for instance the plugin Rediretion (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/redirection/) to redirect requests of the website/show/feed-URLs to the website/category/podcast/show/feed/-URLs

A different approach would be to configure so called podPress Feeds on the Feed/iTunes Settings page of podPress. You could not really choose the URL scheme but it would be shorter. For instance https://www.example.com/feed/mycategroyfeedname

WordPress does not create static feed files. Feeds are produced always on demand. (I guess using a cache plugin would change that.)

I’m sure that there is a possibility to shorten the category feed URLs. One way would be to create RewriteRules in the .htaccess file (see https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Using_Permalinks#Creating_and_editing_.28.htaccess.29) of your blog (the file may have a different name depending on the server software).
But I would not be surprised if there would a plugin which would help you do these settings.

if you download an episode and you see no image of the podcast while you are playing the episode then reason is most likely that you episode files do not contain a cover image.
The iTunes:image and the RSS image you can add on the Feed/iTunes Settings page of podPress are different things. These images are for instance the iTunes Store page of your podcast.

The solution is to add a cover image to each episode file. You can use your iTunes client software for this purpose or other tools to edit the meta information of your files.
